My power antenna stopped going up and down so I have purchased a new mast, but it seems that some of the nylon chain has broken off in the motor housing. Can anyone post DIY instructions on getting to the motor. I have searched the forum, but have not been able to locate the instructions.
I did it just last week. Not difficult but you must be patient with the various clips that secure the interior trim pieces. You need to remove the following:
- hinged floor over spare tire
- trim piece that surrounds the latch
- trim piece that runs up the right side, from floor to mid-point
- trim piece over right rear shock assembly vicinity
- right side floor cubby
Once you have all these removed it is then possible to gently bend back the interior trim piece that covers the area where the antenna motor is located. Removal of the motor itself, and its disassembly, is easy and obvious.
