Default distributor cap

Can someone please let me know if my 2000 RX300 has a distributor cap& rotor.
I changed my spark plugs, which is very diffcult to do the first time. Luckly you only have to do it every 90,000 miles. Didn't think to look for it while I had everything apart. Hopefully I didn't miss it. Would hate to have to go back & replace but I will if neccessary.

Thanks, MOYA

No distibutor cap or rotor.

The RX300 is a direct ignition system with a coil on plug. So all you had to do was unscrew the ignition coil, pull out the plug and put the new plug in and put the coil back in.

Thank you Lexmex, saved me from more worries. One more question, can you tell me where the ignition coil is located?

Thanks. MOYA

The ignition coils are what was plugged onto the top of the spark plugs...one per plug, held in place with a bolt.

Tammy is right on this one.

Another thing on the ignition coils is that they can fail, but not very common I had one fail in Dec. 2005 and I had to modify a current Camry coil to fit until I could get a new RX300 coil from the U.S.

Your question about the distributor cap is a good one. Some of the 1MZFE engines (not in the RX300), but in some older ES300s and Camrys use spark plug wires and I actually had to examine my engine to realize it was all coils.
