Ericok,

your explanation to Koolaidman is almost a waste of energy as koolaidman's enquiry appears to be in a hypocritical tone.

Koolaidman,
thanks for the information that a dry lube is better than wd40, however, given that the strut mounts are a known weak point, I don't think ultimately it will make much difference. As for the comment that don't agree with Ederny's suggestions on the site, take note:
the site is based on fact, and suggestion by CL members, hence the multiple links. I've been surrounded by many in my industry who are hypocritical and my answer to that is put forth the effort to create your own DIY site and then suffer the rediculous comments by those who can't do any better...

If it sounds like I'm pissed, then so be it...@%$#^%$ 's trying to think their better than anyone else...

Give me a &^%$&^^*) break!

Hi guys. I'm new to the forum and want to say that I didn't know RX owners could be such enthusiasts. Great site.

Now, I'm having a problem with my antenna as well. The antenna is stuck half way. When I turn my radio off, I can hear the motor trying the retract the antenna, but it won't. I hear a "clicking" sound as the gear tries to turn but it wont. I have a used motor with antenna in front of me right now that I picked up at a salvage yard. Do I need to replace just the mast(I am assuming this is the retractable metal part) or the entire assembly?

If I do need to replace the whole unit, where can I find a guide to get to it and take it out? I have found guides to replace the mast but not the whole unit. Thanks in advance.

Edit: Nevermind guys. I just started taking panels off until I got to the unit. Pretty easy to replace. Took me about an hour. Thanks anyways.

I'm having problems removing the antenna nut/retainer nut. Can anyone help me out on that??

After you get out any left over plastic debris a new mast will easily feed into the motor. My issue was with getting a quality mast. I found one on amazon but separated from itself within 2 months. I'm going to my Lex dealer and just get the right one!!

Does anyone have a suggestion for a stationary replacement whip antenna, instead of using the power antenna?

I recently saw someone's "fix" using a universal windshield mounted antenna. They mounted along the rear pillar glass. For a more modern twist you can drill and install a "shark" style roof mount antenna. https://www.ebay.com/itm/FM-26-Car-T...NZui9v&vxp=mtr
