Nakamichi...what's the diff?

What, exactly, is the difference (other than the name, obviously) between the Nakamichi audio system and the "Premium" system that most of us have in our Rxes?

watts

The Lexus Premium has more watts than the Nakamichi, but the Nakamichi is supposed to be clearer. I've never heard the Nak but the Lexus Premium (Pioneer) suits me, I especially like the sub woofer under the seat :)

I figured that maybe the Nakamichi system had a couple of additional or bigger speakers, or something. Or maybe an in-dash 6 disk changer. No?

the pioneer made cd changer in the nakamichi system has an equalizer attached to made by nakamichi. otherwise the systems are quite similar. the sound from the cd changer travels in a digital cable to the eqaulizer where better treble and base can be tuned in by the equalizer. the amps look about the same and the pioneer amp lists for 10.00 more than the nakamichi amp for some reason. all the speakers cost similar. so the $800..00 equalizer and digital sound harness is only difference. truth of the matter is pioneer made both systems except for the equalizer. in first generation cars the nak parts were all made by nakamichi but only 2nd generation car with real nak component was the 99 2000 sc nak amp.all models designed after 2000 dropped nakamichi name and called the digital audio system mark levinson but all those parts made by pioneer also.
