Good to know. I think I got my information from someone at the local Lexus dealer. He probably didn't know one way or the other. If it does block UV that is a good thing. Anyone know if this is mentioned specificallty by Lexus anywhere or even on the glass itself? I haven't noticed it. I'll probably just tint the front windoes for now then until I get 100% verification. Anyone know exactly how dark (Percentage wise) the RX330 OEM tint is? I would estimate about 35%, but I don't know.

There are already quite a few threads about this in the RX forum. A quick search using the term "llumar" and I found these:

Fourth post gives you the film roll #

A picture of the llumar

Another angle of the same RX

It's the closest you'll find.
The Lumar is a CLOSE match, someone on here posted a pic he had with 3M film, it was an EXACT match. I had the name of the shop in LA for some time, need to look through my email.

Should show up in a search.

The front windows do protect against UV ray, though not 100%. You can feel the difference under the sun between the front window and the windshield. The windshield has no UV protection at all. I get slight redness on my left arm after a long summer drive. So I got clear film with 100% UV protection at a shop in NY. (It's illegal to color tint front windows in NY.) Now that I'm in Colorado so I can tint it pitch black if I want, but it might get too thick with two layers of tint films.

I think it's darker than that......try the medium shade....20% roughly. It is certanly darker than a 35%.

35% is the max we can go in my state on all windows (Front windshild can't have any tint except for a 4" strip on top). However, for SUVs, trucks, and vans, the rear passanger window and rear windshiled can be blacked out (No limmit). Either way, to comply with the law I can only put 35% on the two front side windows. Unfortunately, all our anual safety inspection stations have tint meters so unless you make friends with a shop you will fail your anual inspection if you have darker than 35%

I was told front windshield has UV protection seemingly validated here http://www.lexus.com/about/press_rel...e_09_01_e.html
