Question how to program clock, temp & garage opener

Just purchased a RX300,2000. No owners book but have ordered one due in 3 weeks. Can anyone tell
me how to set the clock, outside temp & garage door opener? Also what type of coolant is factory installed? Any websites that has this info?
Thanks

Clock: [based on best recollection] Hold the CLK button down for 10 to 20 sec. Screen would change mode and will show H & M next to Hrs and Min button.

Outside Temp: Can not be changed by owner. Last I cheecked with the dealer, there is no provision for calibrating the displayed temprature. (mine is off by 3 degrees).

Garage door (home link) Search previous posts and you will find the procedure.Keep in mind that depending on the type of garage opener, the openor may have to learn the code too.

Coolant or other fluids ... topping up is a complimentary service at the dealership. Not sure if it is a Lexus policy or the local dealer's courtesey.

herm,

Hope you are enjoying your RX 300.

For on line access to the owner's manual, you can go to www.lexus.com. On the Owners page sign up for an account and list your vehicle. Once you are a member with your vehicle listed you can view the entire manual online.

Good Luck.

hermanrd --

Just a tip for setting up your homelink garage door opener: I'd also recommend you have the owner's manual for the garage door opener unit handy. Some garage door opener units, especially those with rolling codes, require you to set the garage opener box mounted on the ceiling to a "learn" setting in order to program a homelink buttor or additional remotes.

YES!

Its very important that you synchronize the rolling code of the garage door opener with the homelink button.

You do this by hitting the learn button during the homelink programing sequence (in the appropriate order).

Cheers,

The coolant is the Toyota Long Life Coolant. It's actually a short life coolant with just 2-year/30K-mile life span. The color is red, but don't confuse it with the Texaco Dexcool used in GM cars. Its property is actually like the green coolant. Toyota colored it red so that they can sell it at $20 instead of $5.

Question AntiFreeze & Automatic transmission fluid

Thanks for info on anti-freeze, What about transmission fluid? It seems to want AFT Type T-IV available at lexus or toyoto dealers. What happends if you suddenly need one or both and no dealer for 50 miles?
