Default Launch from stop no hesitation

My 2000 rx300 launches when I give it gas from a dead stop. There is no hesitation it just jumps off the starting line. It's like a hair trigger gas pedal best way to describe it. Doesn't always do it and sometimes are worse than others. Any ideas? Thanks

What is your RPM at idle, should be around 750 rpm. Let me know what it is in Park or in Drive (when stopped). Sometimes, the IACV valve will get stuck, dirty and if it stays in a somewhat open position you can 'fly' off when you press the accelerator. And yes, it can be sporadic.

Actually, when I would be at the track so many moons ago, this was actually a positive if I wanted to get a good time in the 1/4 mile, but not for daily driving.

This is a DIY on cleaning that particular valve, https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...-write-up.html

Got that right. Hair trigger throttle! Thanks for the response. Rpm stays around 750 parked and at a stop. I was thinking the iacv or a gummy linkage or cable on throttle body. Pedal feels a little stiffer when I press gas almost as if I can feel when it's going to launch. Doesn't happen all the time and accelerates smoothly. I'll clean the valve this weekend much Mahalos! I just bought my rx300 used and sure I'll be back for more expertise. Great club!

Cable length is first thing to check if you want to get 0-60 times down.
