Keyfob not responding
I have a 2000 rx300 and recently I have pushed something by accident on the remote that leads me to believe that I have turned off the wireless function on the keyfob. I tried reprogramming both remote multiple times and changing battery out just in case and nothing. While I’m in programming mode it confirms that it accepted the new fob but once I exit programming and try to lock or unlock nothing happens. Does anyone know of a trick to get me going ?
Bit too late, [for the benefit of the readers] but why would any one mess [try to reprogram etc] with the remote and worse so with the second remote.
You can not turn off the sending remote.
Does the red LED shine bright when you press any key on the remote? This just verifies the battery is good?
Next item to check would be the receiver on RX. You can try disconnecting the RX battery for about 20 mins.
If things don't work out, you may have to go to an expert or dealership to diagnose where the problem is [sending unit, programming. receiver etc].
Keep in mind there is immobilizer/master-key function [starting] and remote [lock unlock alarm lower windows] are not the same. Two different functions, requiring two different programming procedures.
If you can start the RX, please please do not get into immobilizer programming.
Final note: There should never be any reason to get into programming unless there is a new key fob or the receiver in the RX is changed.
