Demand for used V8 sport cars might increase once governments force EVs on everyone w/o upgrading the charging infrastructure

Approximately 368 RC Fs were sold in 2023 based on the February 2024 article below and the Toyota US Sales Summary report. “RC” sales in 2023 were 1,752 per the Toyota report.

“DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The Lexus RC sells in modest numbers in a light truck dominated U.S. market. The high-performance variant, the RC F, is even more of a niche. But the coupe, ranked dead last in U.S. deliveries among Lexus' 12 models in 2023, represents more than sales.

It's become the cornerstone of Lexus Racing in North America and reflects how the Japanese luxury brand, long synonymous with quality and durability, is leveraging the grueling sphere of motorsports to lure consumers seeking more vroom behind a standard leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Lexus reports combined RC and RC F deliveries. Sales of the two-door peaked in 2015 at 14,784. Sales surpassed 10,000 only one other time, when deliveries tallied 11,165 in 2016, according to the Automotive News Research & Data Center.RC F sales represented around 21 percent of RC sales in 2023, based on data provided by a Toyota spokesperson. From 2020 to 2022, RC F sales were less than 9 percent of RC sales, according to that same data.

Jeff Bal, Toyota Motor North America's senior manager of motorsports, experiential and partnership marketing, said RC F sales were particularly strong in 2019, before the pandemic upended the market.

Toyota Racing Development U.S.A. President David Wilson described the RC F as a great little sports car and credits Toyota Chairman Akio Toyoda's decision to not build boring vehicles for the primary reason the model has performed well as a race car.

"We are working actively on the development of the next generation, a proper GT3 car, that will of course have a fully homologated production variant," Wilson said.

He said the new car has a working target launch of 2026.

Apologies to revive old thread.

Finally since RC F is concluding it's journey of life on this planet with Final Edition.

It's total of ~12000 units sold across the world. And its in the same league as SLS AMG with similar or more units sold. Though total USDM units of RC F would be higher than SLS (2500).

So it's a very rare car because 10 years old and there are only few clean titles left. I wonder how many have TVD until 2022 and of those how many have Performace pack with CF+TVD and Carbon Package from 2021.

Source is Carscoops article from a while back when RC line end was announced.
