From what my observation tells, GSF is darker red while RCF red is more candy colored. Just what my eyes told when I looked at them in real life.

No they are totally different. Matador Red is a 3 stage red. Infrared is a 4 stage red which gives it that real candy look to it.
Infrared is exclusive to the RC, LC, and new IS. It’s like a bright candy red. It’s my favorite red on a Lexus because of how amazing it looks in the sun.
Matador Red is a darker red. It looks very nice but doesn’t stand out as much.
I'm not a fan of red exteriors in general but the red on RC F is friggin amazing. It's the only car I'd be fine getting a red exterior with.
I also have/had a strong dislike for most red cars. I had my heart set on the USB for my RC-F. Until I saw Infrared. Now I have it and I love it. It looks freaking amazing in the evening and at night, as it changes from what it looks like in the sun. I get loads of compliments - and people questioning whether it is a custom paint job or a wrap. No other red compares.
Just got my 2018 RC F back after four days at the detailer. He did a 2 step paint correction and 10 year Fireball Dok Do ceramic coating. Car looks AMAZING. Car only has 13K miles on it so the paint was in great shape but it looks soooooo amazing now. This detailer does a ton of high end cars, Bentley, Rolls, Ferrari, Lambo, you name it and he said this particular "red" is the BEST "red" paint he's seen on any car that's come through his shop. He took some incredible photos with his Cannon DSR to post on his website and those look unfreakenreal.

My wife doesn't like red cars but when she saw it in the garage the first time she was very impressed. Sometimes I get complements about the color and they don't know what car is it. This Infrared color looks different in the sun, shade or even when wet.
To all those who have the Orange color I envy you, it's all I wanted when I first saw it but had to hold back for being too flashy and I think it will attract haters. However, enjoy it while I suffer!

Red, orange, or yellow. All are "stand outs". I didn't necessarily want "Infared", and would've chosen the orange or yellow ahead of it if it had been an option for me, buy buying used, I had to obviously factor in a lot of things and this 2018 nfared seemed like a great deal buying it at the end of this March here in Minnesota. Only had 12K miles on it with every possible option less the "carbon package" and was in mint condition. Originally asking $59,999.00 in January for it when the dealer took it in on trade. Marked down to $53,999.00 at the end of March. I offered 50K cash and they accepted. I almost bought the limited edition "nebula grey" version, but the one I looked at was in Connecticut, had 30K miles on it, and probably would've been 5K+ more. I didn't really care for the blue leather interior and I worried I'd get sick of the flat gray paint. Sometimes I regret my decision, but I'm happy with the Infared. This isn't the exact nebula gray RCF I was actually considering, but it's just for reference. This one just came on Cars.com today. Low miles too.
