Cosmetic and other modifications
Hey guys,
I've had my 2015 ultrasonic blue RCF for 5 years now, and it's still basically like new. I decided I'm going to keep this car until I reach financial independence and can enter super car territory. Heck, I'll probably still keep this car then!
Anyway, so I'm thinking about doing some stuff to the car now. I was thinking new wheels, but I just had the car ceramic coated, including the wheels.
What I think would look really good with the blue are some yellow accents. Like, I know there are those carbon fiber coverings for the front fender duct. Are there other options besides carbon fiber?
I don't want to get carried away and make a ricer, so just curious to hear what everyone thinks would be tasteful ways to add some yellow accents.
Also thinking about getting an exhaust and then the RR tune. Anybody here actually done the tune
?

Exhaust is a must have on RCF since the stock exhaust is so boring and the additional power is very nice as the car feels much stronger. RR racing tune will give you a nicer power curve. It won't necessarily give you a lot of peak HP gain. I believe RR racing advertises around 8 - 9 whp, but you gain a lot in the midrange. If you have intake/header/exhaust, the RR racing tune is a very nice thing to have. Cosmetic stuff, I am not sure as my RCF is basically stock exterior wise other than spacers. I might do a carbon fiber chin spoiler like the 2020 RCF/Track Edition and maybe a carbon fiber swap of the heat extractor, but I feel it is perfect for me exterior wise. I really like the stock 20 split spoke hand polished wheels.

Yeah, I think at a minimum I will do exhaust and tune.
I might seriously consider the supercharger if I don't have bring the car to them, but I think that's the only way.
Cosmetically, have no idea what to do, seems like there isn't much and what there is is always carbon or carbon lookalike.

Yeah, basic bolts are good value on RCF. You get really decent power gains for N/A with headers, exhaust and intake. RR racing tune is only for 2015 and 2016 RCF so if you have a newer model year then you are out of luck. If you want more power then supercharger after that. Exterior wise, wheels, springs and carbon fiber bits are the most popular mods.

Super cars are WAAY overrated especially for street use. you have the perfect car. Reliable, useable horsepower, you can use nearly the full potential of the car, often legally, on the street. Not so with supercars. plus they are very miserable to drive around in and I had a reasonably comfortable one ( air cooled Twiin Turbo 911) You will always have way more fun in an RCF than any super car. I can almost guarantee that.

First, I leased my RCF, so when the lease was about to expire, I very nearly went 911. I test drove a few GTRs and a few different 991.2 911s. I definitely couldn't stand driving a GTR as a daily, so I gave up on that despite it being a dream car 15+ years ago, but the 911 was pretty awesome honestly.
I decided to keep the RCF because the exterior styling of 911s are so boring, so I just decided to not buy another car until FI.
To be sure, the RCF is the car with which I have been the most satisfied, but I don't feel like it's quite 'end game'. However, the reliability and other Lexus-specific qualities definitely makes it hard to find anything better overall.
