Plans for 2020 Thread
RCF has been sleeping for 3 weeks now and I am already getting withdrawals. Especially since I got the full Invidia catback exhaust, it has become like a drug addiction for me LOL
I have to keep myself thinking about next year in order to keep my mind preoccupied. I have a 2nd baby on the way early next year, but definitely still have modest plans for the RCF.
List what you have been planning in 2020 for your RCF.
This is what I have on my mind for 2020:
- First and foremost, getting much better tires. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (XL version) tops the list. Cup 2 racing slicks are an option, but doubt it. 255/35 fronts and 295/30 rears
- Full maintenance of the RCF and oil change. I believe this will be 15,000 miles service (my RCF has a little over 10,000 miles).
- Four wheel alignment by the Lexus dealership F car expert especially after I get tires on.
- RR Racing Ultimate Steering Response System (USRS) front control arm bushings. Probably before alignment (after driving on new tires).
- Possibly a new battery as the tech told me the battery might be getting a little weak. Will see if it is needed next year and I might look into a lightweight battery to reduce some weight.
- RR Racing tune
- Taking part in a charity rally with exotic cars, sports cars etc, late summer.

Hello old friend. Glad to see you plotting your course for 2020 - and sincere congratulations on your 2nd child. Do you know if its a boy or girl Lexus Lover yet?
A friend of mine who lives nearby, and is also a member here- just did those RR Steering Response Bushings done as well, though not a TVD like yourself. I look forward to hearing your opinion. Did you ever do the Chassis Brace?
For what its worth, I had the awesome 4S rubber on that set of 20s I so quickly sold after my pothole incident, and now that I went back to Custom 19s which Michelin didn't make a front size I needed - I reluctantly chose the Bridgestone SO4 Pole Positions and am completely blown away at how awesome these tires are Rolla! I have absolutely nothing bad to say about them whatsoever, and I'm extremely surprised that they perform so well in total downpours which I even hate bringing my 2017 out into the rain. What really blew me away is that I fit a 305/30/19 in the back which is monstrous! Just had some Professional Photos taken per my agreement w BC Forged, so I will share some with you later today.
Keep up the great story and don't forget the pics!

Just a couple of things I have on my to do list:
Michelin Pilot Sport 4S
RR Racing USRS
PPE EL Headers/tune
Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel
And that's about it, I'm not going to go crazy with mods. I got lucky and exhaust/wheels/suspension/cf body kit/intakes came on the car so saves me some money lol

I have an oil/filter change coming due in January (which I will perform myself) and a brake fluid flush and pad change likely due sometime next summer. As far as modifications, I'm almost certainly going to cave in and get some sort of exhaust system, though I'm particular about wanting to keep the look as close to OEM as possible. I've also got a brand new set of swift springs sitting in my garage as well, but I'm probably not going to install them.
Might look into replacing the DCTMS steering wheel with one from Elvin.
Since I've done quite a few mods this year, I can't really think of anything that would happen next year, except part mentioned below. I ordered a bigger throttle body from Icode and an intake tube from SURUGA speed and those two might make it into the car before end of this year.
One thing I may seriously pursue next year is having a CF driveshaft made.

Thanks man. Really appreciate it. We are keeping it a mystery for now LOL
I recently purchased a Lexus RX for the growing family so I will have to keep my plans within a reasonable limit next year. You are right, the USRS is a cheap mod, but does a great job at making the steering feel more "connected" with the wheels. I have not done a chassis brace yet. I think the chassis rigidity is already high, but I might think about some underbody brace.
I remember the pictures when you had 20s on. It did look insanely good, I remember. Glad you really like your Bridgestone S04. What are your plans for the next year on your RCF?
Wow! carbon fiber driveshaft? That would be amazing. Would really be interested in seeing how that turns out. Did you consider RR racing USRS?
Exactly the same here. I am also keeping my plans very reasonable next year. I guess, small incremental changes.

I did most of my 2020 mods in 2019, and pretty much followed the same course as you did:
- First and foremost, getting much better tires. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (XL version) tops the list. Cup 2 racing slicks are an option, but doubt it. 255/35 fronts and 295/30 rears - Did this, and the MPS 4S was worth every penny. I can finally get some traction with my I/H/E setup, and absolutely annihilated a new M4 a few nights ago.
- Full maintenance of the RCF and oil change. I believe this will be 15,000 miles service (my RCF has a little over 10,000 miles) - Also did scheduled maintenance, although the 25k.
- Four wheel alignment by the Lexus dealership F car expert especially after I get tires on. - Ditto on this after the new tires were on.
- RR Racing Ultimate Steering Response System (USRS) front control arm bushings. Probably before alignment (after driving on new tires). - Please let me know what you're planning on getting. I, too, am thinking about this upgrade.
- Possibly a new battery as the tech told me the battery might be getting a little weak. Will see if it is needed next year and I might look into a lightweight battery to reduce some weight. - Mine died this summer, so I did this too!
- RR Racing tune - Did this late 2018.
In addition to these upgrades, I also added the PPE headers, high-flow cats, and had the entire car, including the wheels, ceramic coated. Next, and probably last major upgrade, will be adding coilovers and new shoes from HRE. Great thread, BTW!

Thanks. Definitely, USRS is one of my top mods. I might purchase the parts over the winter and then put them on in the spring. Will definitely do a review on them. Can you let me know which type of battery did you get? I have heard some RR racing batteries are inadequate for the RCF and cause issues. Just want to avoid getting a battery that can cause voltage issues. Thanks.

We all seem to have similar plans! Here are mine
- Install USRS (sitting in garage)
- Install SPC rear camber arms (also sitting in garage)
- Get aligned after install
- CF steering wheel
- RR Racing tune and gut stock headers
- Full paint correction
- Upgrade to 2020 rear diffuser
Nice list. Are you not getting an exhaust?
