Default Brake Pads!

HI all, haven't been on here in a bit lol. Just did the brakes on my ISF and now the damn RCF needs them too. *flips pockets inside out and shrugs*

Stock Pads are worn out at 25k, need to replace. Can anyone give some recommendations for new pads? Are the wear sensors reusable? I have read about them being reusable as long as one is careful and cleans them. I was also thinking about doing braided lines too while I was down there. These even available yet?

Looking for something quite with more bite then stock, don't do any track driving just the usual spirited canyon runs on occasion.

If your warning light is on, no, you can't clean the sensors and reuse them. Once the wire breaks, they're done.

Lots of options for replacement pads from cheap to stupid expensive. If you want cheap, start at rockauto.com.

And if you want good - go to site sponsor:

https://speedfreaksusa.com/c-323291-...les-lexus.html

They actually road test the pads the sell. Do a search and see

IMHO, braided lines are a waste on a modern Lexus. The stock brake lines are plenty good!

Thanks guys.. Ill check it out! Yea Im gonna need new sensors lol..

I did braided lines on my ISF and did notice a pretty big difference in peddle feel and fade. Peddle is much more firm and the brakes dont seem to fade as quickly since the lines aren't as flexible.. Maybe the ones on the RCF are better and it won't be as noticeable?

That's because you bled the brakes when you put the lines on. I have a very long history with braided stainless teflon lined brake/hydraulic hose, all the way from building hoses with Aeroquip "super gem" fittings in 1980 to purchasing pre-made swaged lines (I have Goodridge lines on my Supra right now, but only because it's a low annual mileage vehicle and they were cheaper than OEM hoses). It has never made a noticeable difference on anything I've put it on if the brakes were properly bled, and believe me after assembling those hoses and shredding the skin on my hands doing it, I REALLY wanted to feel a difference.

If the pads are squeaking you could look at getting a replacement set from Lexus under L-SB-0054-16. Then viola, new pads. Spoke to my SA today and he agreed to take care of it when I bring it in for next service.

^^^^But, those pads are a lower performance pad. When I replace my pads you can bet I'll be getting a higher performance pad.

With the lower performing pads you'll be getting what you pay for

I got them from Rock Auto. They're pretty reasonably priced. They are ridiculously expensive from the dealers.
