Just wondering how difficult this is to do.

Easy ones I can think of are:
Exhaust
Wheels
Battery

What will that net? 60 ish pounds total?
Any other low hanging fruit?

For track or street? For track you might take out the back seat & belts, all trunk bits, spare & tools & covers.

Seats are the first thing to look at. They weigh 80 lbs each. Going with lightweight race seats will shed weight. Lightweight wheels (19 inch and not 20 inch). Also, tire weight needs to be factored in.

No, just street. Trying to justify keeping this car instead of going GTR or 911.

Diet and exercise... (sorry your question was the low hanging fruit).

Wheels are an easy one for sure.

The brakes. There are lighter 2 piece rotors that are not that expensive or you can go Carbon Ceramic.

coilovers weight a lot less than the stock suspension
2 piece rotors save you almost 30 lbs plus ( about 17lbs a corner )
just mod your car, the weight sheds lol

good luck!

Yeah, so it's a question of how much money and effort will it all cost. At some point, it's just better to spend the money on a better car. Hmm..... such a difficult decision

There are a lot of variables.

Personally, I have always wanted a 911 and a GTR.

I give this a lot of thought because someday I will buy a new sports car and those are my top two choices although I am leaning towards a Carrera S newer model 991 generation.

The flip side is I think the Lexus RCF maybe the perfect car for me. I tend to do all day Grand touring type drives and I can walk after 8 hours behind the wheel. The RCF does everything very well. Plus I tend to value reliability and build quality above all else. I remember seeing Porsche 718's GT4's ripping shock towers off the unibody. Yeah the car is a monster performer but that is a catastrophic failure and I would rather have a heavier car that does not suffer a catastrophic failure.

So at this point for me I am leaning towards lightening my car sometime in the future with lighter brakes, wheels and other stuff. I just am to cheap to replace working brakes so I have to wait until they wear out.

Can you explain the logic of dropping ~200lbs when the weight loss might only decrease your 0-60 by <.5 seconds? Would you be able to tell the difference? It reminds of computer processing speeds that differentiate in the microseconds from one model the next.

Because, it is fun. I bought an RCF and not a Prius for a reason, not for reason.

GTR sounds like the right car for you. You want to loose weight for street use? that doesn't even make sense...... A GTR is like that juice monkey at the gym. A 911 Turbo is the only way to go if you're considering a solid fast car. our cars are similar to Vantage's - beautiful looking and fast enough. It's a different type of breed.
