RCF mirror cover melted
Has anyone else experience a strange damage to there side mirrors. My driver side mirror cover has a melted spot on it. It looks like someone put

a heat blower to it.

That's exactly what it looks like. I can't imagine that's anything but human intervention - and that's right screwed if someone did that to your car! Curious to know what the dealership says - but I don't envision them paying to fix it as I can't fathom what deficiency in the paint job would cause that.... Good luck!

Yes that exactly how it looks. They said after moving the mirror to the side that they can’t see any damage inside or to any wires. So they won’t cover it under the warranty. My beef with them is that they wouldn’t take it apart to see if there is any damage that isn’t visible from the outside.

couple of years ago there were cars in Las Vegas that suffered something similar because they were parked in a area where the sun was reflecting off the mirrored windows of one of the hotels and at a certain time of the day the reflection would hit this parking lot and several spaces would be in the line of site to the reflection.
kind of like using a magnifying glass to burn ants.
I wonder if you were parked somewhere that had the same effect?
FWIW the mirror cap is easy to replace.
toward the bottom of the page in yellow. if you put your VIN in the search it will isolate your specific one.

That’s interesting to note the color of the cars. My fiancé is having this same problem with her 2016 BLACK Lexus nx300h.
Now she is getting the run around from both Lexus and from Geico about who is responsible and/or not covering it. It’s very frustrating as we live in the PNW ... we have had very few sunny days as of yet this year and def not temps high enough to melt a lollipop let alone a freaking car!!!
