Yes, it has both of those. Also, you can disconnect the controller from the harness and it will stay in the mode you last selected. It kind of gives an OEM look. However, I like having a small little controller that can blend in well. You can barely notice it, if the lights are turned off.

That was one of the two reasons why I stayed away from Apexi (actually three). One, a lot of people complained about going in limp mode. Secondly, the central control unit is huge by comparison. You have to hide the big box somewhere underneath. Third reason was, calibration. I have read it has a long calibration process and some people experience it getting reset. You then have to go through the calibration every time it does it. By comparison, I read a lot reviews of SB v3 and never found anyone complaining about limp mode. I did see many saying it about Pedal Commander, though. The SB is tiny. Just the harness and the small control unit. No calibration is needed. As soon as you install and turn on your car, it is ready to go.
I played with it a bit more in the parking lot. I turned it off and then switched it back on in race mode 9. Both with sport+/manual mode. I wanted to see how big the difference was in OEM most aggressive setting and the race 9 model setting. I can tell you, the first 2 - 3 inches are absolutely savage/brutal in race mode 9. The shove almost feels like electric torque hitting you in the back as the car bolts forward. I always thought the stock sport+/manual mode was very sharp, but this thing is just on a different level at the most aggressive setting. You shoot forward so fast, your head whips back hard even with a quick 2-inch throttle tip in. I cannot wait to drive it on the road.
One thing I noticed, you have to be very careful in a parking stall and use the creep function. Completely foot off the gas. If you are trying to get close to the car in front of you in a lot and you even tip the throttle in 1 or 2 inch, you will immediately need to hit the brakes. I will write more details once I get the car on the road in march.

Different vehicles it depends. I bought one for my Jeep and Race 9 makes it drivable. The way it should have come from the OEM.
Same here. When took my car for a quick drive - I did it in Race 9, manual, sport+.....on level 9 I felt like the first time I was driving a manual with a tricky clutch lol. The car jerked hard then I would let off. It does make a huge difference. In the spring, I will play around with it. For me Race 9 was too much.

Got it installed today. The OEM plug was indeed hard to remove. Funny thing is before I got the Sprint booster, I tried to actually remove the plug, because everyone is saying how hard it is to remove, so I don’t wanna stuck with a Sprint booster but not be able to install it. I was able to remove it twice quite easily and I thought no big deal. But when the time comes for the real install, I just couldn’t get it removed, no matter how hard I tried. I end up using a plier, electrical taped the two ends, so I don’t damage the plug. If I would do it again, I’d use plier, clamp onto the plug, and grab the top of the plier so I don’t use too much force into clamping the plug, and push the plug up/out.
After I got it installed, I took the car out for a 10 mile drive. I put it on Sport 1. I found this to be the best mode for me, as I’m just daily driving on the street. I just needed slightly better throttle response, nothing crazy. Before, Normal mode feels like driving a Camry, I only used it when the car is still warming up. Now it feels like a Luxury sports car, good throttle response with easy & calm acceleration. I can actually see myself using it more, with family or after a long day of work. In Sport mode, car was much eager to down shift, hold the revs and make all the V8 sounds, but since I’m on Sport 1, the gas pedal is still very controllable, which is a very good thing. I haven’t tried Sport+ due to weather, but so far I’m very pleased.
This little device is definitely worth the investment, makes the car much more enjoyable to drive.

There is actually a very easy way to remove it with your right thumb. I wrote about it above. It came after me having bruised shoulders and blistered fingers while trying to fit my entire torso in the footwell. I re-thought the whole process and sat in the driver seat (all the way back and steering all the way up) leaned hard right with right shoulder pressed into the center console, stuck my right hand where the TPS plug is (hand approaching from the left of the throttle) and the thumb lands in the perfect spot. Right in the center of the plug tab where the indentation is. I rolled the thumb upwards towards the top of the tab while pushing up and it came off easily.
p.s. Sport+/manual and race mode 9 are brutal. Try it only on a dry road where you have space in front of you. You suddenly tip in 2 - 3 inches on the throttle and the car dashes 20 - 30 feet like nothing.

yea I actually tried that. Maybe my arm isn’t long enough, after I extended my arm for a little while, my shoulder was pretty sored, so I gave up and took out my plier lol. Luckily I didn’t do any damage on the plug. Next time (maybe when I remove it for dealership visit), I would just use the plier, grab my hand onto the clamping end where it meets the plug, and just push it out. I think this works better for me, since I’m short armed.
