Konichiwa..Lol..I flog the hell out of that thing...but my sluggish acceleration on takeoff is very present in automatic mode while in Sport S+
I simply want a more aggressive start while on Auto mode without constantly having to go to manual/paddle shifter mode to rip off the line...
So yes, even is Sport S + mode in auto...it is sluggish...I get the impression from posts that the Apexi has issues..so far, the Sprint Booster or Pedal Commander seem to have very high marks

First rule, if you want maximum throttle response, go manual + sport S/S+. Automatic mode will try to start you off in 2nd gear first until it realizes you want more and give you 1st. The time of thinking, is where the lag is. I drive only manual and S/S+ all the time. It is so brutal at times that my wife hits the head at the head rest. She has gotten mad at me a few times saying I suddenly stab it LOL.

They have a Bluetooth version now:

Might help us hide the location of the pedal commander in a more discrete location but access it via our phones; it remembers your last state. I wasn't aware of the issues of Apexi, nor tried it personally, but I still like the install of the Apexi over the Pedal Commander though now I see the Bluetooth one and my thoughts changed a little then my previous post.

Wow! Pedal commander is looking more and more as a viable option. You can simply hide the plasticky looking box under the steering somewhere and then use your phone to control the modes. That is amazing. That is one of the gripes I have about the Apexi that you need to keep the button within reach.

I agree O5Rolla...the pedal commander does appear to be a better option. Albeit, i am not crazy about the large size of the control unit....but the Sprint Booster has a very small thumb size button...soooo..the Sprint booster can easily go where the factory buttons are on the left of the steering wheel
I may have to look at that as well

That is why the Bluetooth option with pedal commander is the best option. Also, pedal commander seems to remember your chosen mode every time you turn on the car. You can hide it underneath the footwell area and then use your phone to switch modes. No matter which one of these, I would not want that plasticky box/button anywhere on the dash.

I like the apexi. I've had one issue with it when it threw the gas pedal circuit code but the car was still driveable. Got home and disconnected it, cleared the code and reconnected it. I planned on removing it if it threw the code again but I never had an issue again after that, and it's ON all the time. I like the simplicity of just pushing one button to toggle between modes, although I've only used it in RED. Note: Car only has almost 10K miles and first and only issue happened at around 3K miles.

I'm with konichiwa, I just use sport or sport+ modes. The one thing that both the Apexi and Pedal Commander does to get better response time is increase the current to the throttle control components, I don't want to take the chance of driving the car and it quits due to component failure because of a 3rd party controller

I am really enjoying the discussion...no doubt that manual mode alleviates the lag. Obviously it appears the technology is not a gimmick, but they do work. I just enjoy certain days in auto mode and just want to punch it without having to go to Manual mode to rip off the line... I think a controller for the auto mode is the ticket

I Agree with what Flesh said, mine is like Night & Day Difference! I Know it doesn't add any extra HP, but it's SO touchy now if you have it on the Purple or Red Modes. I've been sitting at a red light several times & not paying attention & when I just touch the gas pedal, it'll spin the tires. I did it once when I had a drink in my hand & well let's just say I got some in my lap. I LOVE mine! JMO

Is the Apexi the only one you all recommend...I am just curious why other brands are never mentioned on this forum? Has anyone used the "Vitesse" of pedal Commander..or is the Apexi just " the one to get"?

I have the Apexi tc installed on my RCF and I would highly recommend unless you plan on getting a tune which would have similar feature. The posts I have seen on here abt ppl getting the dash error lights is caused by not following the directions. If you plug the harness inversely, you WILL get a brake override error and car going into limp mode ( revs without Accel). Simply unplug battery for 15 mins, reverse the the way you plugged it before the error and follow the programming instructions. It makes normal mode feel like sport mode and makes good noise when your in manual mode with a aft market exhaust.
