Default 1/2 Mile Racing

Hey I know the RC-F is not going to break any 1/2 mile world records...espeically bone stock, however, I was very impressed by RCF500 174mph in the SC RC-F. That is very fast!!!

But I did a Wanna-Go-Fast event in Florida years ago in a 2009 Porsche 911 TT and it was a lot of fun.

So now I live out West and I am going to go do this (see below). I figured it is cheaper and safer than getting a ticket for going this fast so why not.

But my question is has anyone else done this in their RC-F? And what kind of MPH do you think I can hit in the 1/2 mile in a bone stock RC-F?

Thanks...

I'm currently signed up for a WannaGoFast event next month in Florida at JumboLair where John Travolta lives. I can't wait to seee what my RCF will do....

Hey man good luck. That is exactly where I ran my Porsche a few years back. Travolta's plane was actually parked in his driveway that day...it is a very interesting place as most people that live there park their planes at their home.

Anyway in researching how fast I should be able to go in the RCF...I saw last year there in Florida at Wanna go fast a stock ISF best run was 134.97mph. So I would hope to be somewhere around that. I would love to get to 140 but...140 is faster than it sounds.

Not sure how many of you have done 1/2 mile racing but I love it. It is not so hard on your car like 1/4 mile as you can roll race and they give you plenty of time to slow down so you are not hard on your brakes like you would be on a track day. And I only did 146mph in my Porsche but it felt very fast and I have been a lot faster in cars but it is usually not for prolonged bouts of speed. This is just a Rush and you get to see some amazing fast cars. Just my 2 cents

I am assuming that you mean that rcf500 went 147mph and not 174mph. Either way, that's quick as heck. I have only ran my SC rcf in quarter mile events and will be trying a drag radial setup in the near future.

Oh my bad I thought the 174 was in the 1/2 mile...so I assume the video was of 174 just top end period...got it. Thanks.

Well crap then I may have to lower my expectations of 140 huh? LOL

Yes please do. The supercharged RCF had a best run (out of 10+ runs) of 142 mph. I was there to watch every last single one. I was also at the wanna go fast event this past weekend in GA. Unfortunately no F's there.
I'd say the 130-134 range on a stock RCF. Stock CTSV's are running 132's to 135's....which are pretty evenly matched with an F.
Definitely nice events though! May try to get down to FL next month.

142mph for a SC RCF does not sound right??? I did 146mph in a stock 2009 911 TT (480HP at the crank) and a 6 speed...oh well I would love to get into the mid 130's.

So I am headed down to Gila Bend this coming Sunday to run the "F in the 1/2 mile. Only real mod is "resonator delete" so at least I will sound better than stock...LMAO

I have to agree....the supercharged F should have be doing high 140, if not low 150s. Didn't seem that traction was an issue either....maybe he was on low boost, can't quite remember what he told me. Elevation was super high at this particular track.... although I would think that wouldn't matter for a supercharged car.
But good luck this weekend! Lmk how you do! Interested in your results!

Found the results posted here. The ISF did a 134.x. don't see the RCF listed on that page....or am I over looking it?

It was me, I was only there on Sunday, I wasn't there Saturday. My fastest trap speed was 135ish. I consistently did 133-134 throughout my 11 runs. My fastest run was right after lunch at 1pm. Traction was a huge problem all day. Never could build up any heat in the tires.
