I'm sorry but only 9 degree raise in air intake wouldn't result in any timing change but I do agree on a better design like what they did on the new lc500... Dual intakes pulling cold air in from the front...

Go to Instagram and search for his name RCF500. His runs against CTS-V, Corvette, R8 and Supra are posted on there..

Good launches - seemed to get away quicker than all of the other cars including the Supra. I don't find the RCF as easy to launch as my manual cars or as automatics that let you brake torque. I still don't have it down but maybe I need some open space and all nannies (as close as possible) off.

Depending how the Supra is setup they can launch pretty hard with sub 2 sec 60 foot but most that are setup for runway pulls like this aren't concerned about off the line take off. Once they get to top of 2nd into 3rd and turbo is spooling that's where they shine. Launching a manual car is no easy feat either, for Supra you can stage turbo, use line lock, dump clutch etc...again no easy feat. Props to the RC-F that torque coming on early really showed on the launches. This is the most impressive RC-F I've seen, kudos to all involved.

I am running Cup 2's, 295/30/20 with 35 PSI cold and 39 PSI hot. I found it best to warm up these tires first and then it will hook non stop. Brake torque at 1K RPM and go! If it's still cold, brake torque at 1K RPM and ease the throttle in until you get some speed and then just pedal to the floor. With the run with the CTS-V I got real squirrely, had to let off and correct and then full throttle

Thank you sir! Lol when that boost kicked in for the Supra my jaw dropped, it was insane!

Awesome runs! I was genuinely worried about the CTS-V one when you had that issue, lol! Bet you surprised a bunch of people there.

Supra when it it full boost was crazy

Most definitely! I enjoyed watching him run! VERY consistent trap speeds as well. I believe the lowest was 138mph vs the CTSV and highest was 141 vs the R8. Had a ton of people looking under the hood trying to figure out why this Lexus was running those times, lol!
Supra was definitely crazy and something to see. Even crazier was the Lambo that made that Supra look slow😨. Supra was consistent at 190+ mph (believe the run vs the RCF was 174mph and highest of the day I saw for him was 194mph). Twin turbo Lambo (street legal at that) trapped 224mph as the highest I saw😲.
But again, good driving by RCF500! Can't wait for another event!

I believe that was a UGR Lambo, the acceleration on those cars are unreal some of them depending on package can be 2000 Plus WHP. I saw one down at TX2K few years ago pull away from Boosted Liter bikes like nothing.

I just don't understand why the rc-f even with a little boost cannot get a decent amount of torque. Everyone knows that's what kills our car performance is its weight but with at least 500wtq would make a huge difference. I'm now shopping for a z06 and or a used 17 gtr...

And I would safely assume Lexus has great QC. Above 174, you take the risk on yourself. Best to have some extra safeguards in place
my hood seemed to lift in the rear at 130 to 145.mph. more when i am trailing someone in Mexico less when I have clean air. I removed the plactic guard from under the hoods heat vent in the hopes that the air would flow best. I think the hood liner tho catches alot of air like a pocket. Im going to remove it as well and try and top my best of 145
