Default Is it possible to get 20% off an 2017 RCF?

Trying to help a friend out. I am not familiar with Lexus as I'm more of a Porsche guy but I told him in the Porsche world you have to call up as many Porsche dealers as you can to find the right car and make a deal.

I am seeing lots of RC F's just sitting and not moving so it's a very different world than Porsches. I have read that some people were getting 20% off but that was a year ago. Is it possible to get 20% off MSRP on a new one? We are in Northern California.

Yes I understand THAT deal a year ago is long gone.

My question is-- what is the most I can expect to get off of MSRP for a 2017 right now? What kinds of deals are people getting? I apologize if there's another thread on that already. Is 20% off unreasonable? seems like RC F's are just sitting and not moving much.

If you want to get a discount like that, look for a 15 that is still sitting around. Or go for a 16 and spend a bit more money! The 15's had a few early issues that needed to be addressed, which is why I aimed for 16!

Lexus HQ had learned from their past experiences on the RCF and had adjusted production output accordingly.

Both RCF and GSF productions had scaled back a lot.

Still, if you look hard enough I'm sure you still can find REASONABLE deals, but NOT AMAZING ANYMORE.

Used market for 2015/2016 RCF you can get a much lower overall price. But very low mileage mint condition ones are very rare.

Good luck.

IDK the exact numbers. But what I have observed is that back in 2015 when I was looking to buy, there was a build up of inventory towards the end of 4th quarter 2015 and dealers are heavily discounting in order to move the RCF's.

Now, there are not that many RCF's compared to back then. GSF's are even rarer.

This is what I observed in SoCal.

EDIT:. USA production numbers:

As per:.

They mean that those numbers don't break down into individual trim sales. That's total RC sales. i.e. 200t, 300, 350, f-sport variants, RC F...
