Default Raced a 3.7L v6 mustang in Mexico...disappointed

Long story short ran from 40-95 and only pulled 1 car length. At the red light he was all proud and told me he had all bolt-ons

Are you modded?

With all bolt on they are around 300whp on the high side. Also figure about 150-200lbs lighter then a stock isf and he could have had weight reduction too...or heck could haven been squeezing a small shot.

I wouldn't feel bad, lots of factors and at the end of the day you have a 4 door luxury sports sedan.

forgot I was in the rcf forum!!

So more like 400lbs lighter. Even so I would expect an rcf to pull a bit more buy who knows what he had under the hood. Your car is still way nicer.

That's kind of bizarre results because I ran a new 5.0 GT and pulled about 1-1.5 car length from about the same speed till a bit over triple digit in Mexico as well! He had at least an exhaust - it sounded mean. He did have his GF in the car but she was tiny so I don't think that matter much.

It felt that I could have pulled more the more we kept going.

There was a time when I barely pulled an Audi A4 2.0T. You never know what mods they have and with a tune those turbocharge cars can gain a lot of power. It was a quick car though! I pulled about 1-1.5 cars as well from 30ish-90ish.

I'm all stock. You guys are right, never know how extensive the mods were.

I was pulling on him more and more approaching triple digits but didn't want to end up in (Mexican) jail over a mustang

You could always blame it on Mexican gas!

You lost to a V6 with bolt ons? I think the RC-F needs a driver mod because that shouldn't have happened lol Even with boltons you are still pulling 100hp over him. Sounds like you were out of RPM range...you need to be 4k RPM before doing something like that, otherwise you are gutting your torque range.

Really hard to say what the factors were...could be mods on other car, driver error, or both. There is always a faster, sleeper car out there. I know of civics that can leave a Lamborghini or Ferrari like it is standing still. Never judge a book by the cover

Someone needs to enroll in reading comprehension classes.

I didn't lose, just didn't expect him to keep up as much. I don't know how you can do better when its in sport+ manual mode from gear 2-3. Does your rcf have hidden hp I don't know about?
Going 40 in second gear is in rpm range, not my first rodeo.
If it was driver error, I wouldn't be posting here if I bounced off the redline

The rcf is heavy as h€ll. On the strip I can't even get it under 12.8, as confirmed by many owners

Who ever tested and listed at 12.4-12.5 quarter mile must been smoking and going down hill

There are so many things that can change the way a car performs... That Mustang could have been geared for a 120 mph top end but would pull much harder at lower speeds.

You were also drag racing a car designed for drag racing with a car designed for road courses. If you're upset about this situation, then I think you bought the wrong type of car.

My buddy has a 1989 5.0 Mustang that can run 8's in the 1/4 mile. It will smoke your RC F like a fine cigar at the speeds you posted. He bought it for $3k and put about $20k into it... 1/3 of the price of our cars. Does that mean we wasted our money??

I don't care if the V6 Mustang actually beat my RC F, I'd still be content with my RC F.

Let's see the Mustang do the twisties at high speed on mountain roads.😃😃😃😃

I still prefer the RCF over the Mustang.

Factoring 20% powertrain loss, the Rcf has 373 whp on a true MustangDyno. The Rcf is also around 400 pounds heavier, so my guesstimate his extensive bolt on and exhaust yielded him 340-350 whp or 100 whp increase from stock.
Was just surprised he kept up and I didn't dust him. But at end of the day, I choose my Rcf over any mustang
