Heck, I got OTD with my Limited for $45k.

See above on price, but your comment still doesn't make sense. The Lexus version (GX) goes for $65k+ so the fact that the Toyota is 40-45k is quite the steal. Personally, I found the GX to have very little over the Limited 4R. The 4.0 is proven bulletproof, the interior space is incredible, and the on/off road combo capability with the KDSS/XREAS is great. I think you are severely underestimating what you get.

Then again, it simply comes down to....what did you want? The Macan and 4R aren't typically cross shopped. The Macan is your go fast, look sporty, but "please don't go off road" SUV. The 4R is your blends into a crowd, heavy utility, "please take me on a trail and abuse me" SUV.
Wanted the 4Runner TRD because of the looks and color. I would not spend $35K on a base, $40K on a trail or $45K on a limited. I would pay $45K for the TRD though, but since I always lease, Toyota Financial wanted $622/month ($45K truck) for a TRD on a 36 month lease and 12K miles a year. I was paying $650/month for my RCF on a 24 month lease ($73K car), now Im down to $610/month "heck of a deal considering they were soaring the $1,000/month area" ($60K SUV). Financially the TRD is not an option, maybe cash, but again Im used to huge discounts...$500 is not discount to me (thats the most that TRD people are getting on cash purchases).

Even though I like the 4Runner TRD, I would still opt for the Macan S over it

Enjoy your ride and don't regret it

Agreed. However, if you really wanted space then Cayenne S would have been nice too

Surprised!

If I had an RC-F and needed a bigger car - it'd be the GS-F for me

For the price of a GSF, you can get the Macan Turbo, have a quicker, roomier car that has a much better interior, far, far, far superior pdk transmission and a better build quality. The Porsche AWD and PASM system are awesome.

The Macan does come with crappy all season tires. It actually becomes quiet capable with stickier high performance tires. There should be easy aftermarket ways to get more out of the twin turbo charged motor. Another consideration is market demand and resell.

My wife was never been into Porsches, but she is a believer since getting her Macan. I am a believer in the RC F, but to me the GS F is not even remotely tempting.

I drive 3 kids to daycare and school everyday. Even keep the stroller in the trunk. I feel sorry for those who can't win the car decision process with the wife.

One less than you, but I agree, I would hold out as long as possible before I relinquish the sports car. Hell my compromise to a bigger car was from an Audi TTRS to the RC F

They're still happy with the added space!

I went from a 911 Turbo to a C63 Black Series and now RC-F for more room. Once they can all take the school bus, I'm getting back into a 2 seater lol.

Toronto Star actually reviewed the RC as a family friendly sports car and fitted a rear facing child seat:

Same here. I went from 911 turbo to RCFs because I needed a back seat for my 4 year old. It truly is a family friendly sports car. My wife loves driving it because it is fun, comfy, and easy to drive.
