Default Navigation Question

I'm thinking of ordering an RCF soon, and am on the fence about getting the NAV/ML package. Like most of you, i rely on my phone for navigation (even in my is250 with NAV), but i see this package includes the touchpad and the Lexus Enform. Any current owners have any opinions on getting NAV versus not? I think the only part of the package i would like is the touchpad, but was wondering if theres more that I'm missing or if you guys feel like its worth it.

Currently own a supercharged, bagged and widebodied IS250 and the RCF would replace my currently daily IS300. Looking at getting the perfromace package to get the TVD so i can track it a few times a year

Navi is ok in the 3IS which the RCF will have the same thing. Phone for sure is still better than most in car navi systems. For $2600 option in a $70k+ car might as well get it. If you dont get Nagi you get that wheel control thing instead of the touchpad. I got Navi/ML in my 3IS mainly because I wanted the ML. In my 06 IS I was able to get a ML car without Navi.

I'm not really for the "might as well" aspect. If the wheel is very cumbersome in comparison with the touchpad, then it may be a worthwhile investment though.

Also, when "building" one on Lexus website, it doesnt allow you to add the performance package. Not sure whats up with that, trying to gauge the price of how i would like to build one.

Resale value will take a hit w/o nav. Not sure how much, though.

Yeah idk why they're not offering the performance package online. Maybe because they're only making ~200 in 2015, so they're trying to make you hunt dealers to find one? lol

I just got the first gray CF/TVD package in CA (!), and it automatically came with the nav/ml upgrades. Not sure if that's always the case, but if you're thinking TVD then this discussion might be a moot point.

You gotta know going in that the nav/ml are "premium" upgrades, so you definitely don't NEED them. It's all about what's important to you. The nav and trck package are minor IMO, but if you like cruising with your music turned up enough to bruise your organs like I do, the ML will get you there for sure.

Heyarms, I have the standard audio system with the Nav unit. I love the interaction and connectivity of the Lexus Enform app when you link your accounts up. Transferring destinations from your phone to the app works really smooth...just make sure(if you get it) to update the system in the car. Mine did it automatically, but there was someone on here that theirs didn't and so it wasn't working as smoothly. If you live out in the sticks and don't travel in the car too much then I guess the Nav system might not appeal to you as much. I've been impressed with how well it updates the current traffic conditions and gets me around them.

As for the audio system, I'll be changing some things down the road after other things are finished with the car. The standard system is OK, but IMO I wish I had found an Ultra White with the ML system. I listen to EDM and Deep House mostly....it doesn't sound bad, but I've had better. I don't blast my music, but you can feel it. Best way to see for yourself would be to take a CD to a dealership and find out for yourself. Hope this helped ya some

Thanks for the input guys. I may be spoiling myself today with an RCF premium/performance package today, with Nav/ML. Wish me luck! Test drove a friends last night, it was a blast both as a passenger and as the driver!

Nice choice. That's what I ended up doing. You won't regret it. Good luck, and enjoy the new car!
