Default RC350 F-Sport Work Meister S1 3P Fitment Question

Hello everyone:

I am new to Club Lexus and have a question regarding wheel fitment. Please refer to the upcoming setup below and let me know if you think there will be potential rubbing. Thank you so much.

Work Meister S1 3P
1. Front: 19x8.5 ET37 with 245/40/19 Pilot Super Sports or 4S

2. Rear: 19x10 ET42 with 285/35/19 Pilot Super Sport or 4S

3. Lowered with F-Sport Lowering Springs with approx. 1" or less drop per Lexus part description.

I have

attached a simple spec. sheet showing the wheel poke-out dimensions, etc., with different rim diameters and offers.

Look forward to hearing from you all. Thanks a lot.

I referenced my setup from "FR500GT". If you are still around, could you let me know what you think? I saw from one post where you mentioned there was no rubbing. Did you get a chance to ride that setup for a while? Pilot Sport tires are expensive, that's why I want to make sure I am purchasing the right ones in the beginning.

I'd like to hear from people currently running 245/40/19 and 285/35/19 tires. What brand/type of tires do you have?

Thanks.

I had the OEM wheels and tires for ~6,000 miles and had no issues as expected with a factory set-up. I changed to a set of Niche Methos; 20" x 9" et 25 in the front and 20" x 10.5" et 40 in the rear with Nitto Invo tires; 255/30 up front and 285/30 in back. ~1,000 miles later I added RS-R lowering springs. I have driven ~2,000 miles since then and have had zero rubbing.

Thank you very much, Jonmonkey, for your feedback. RSR springs seem to lower the car more than the OEM F-Sport lowering springs, which in a way adds more clearance due to more negative camber I believe.

I was hoping to run the tires with higher aspect ratio, i.e., 245/40 in front and 285/35 in rear to help eliminate the tire-to-fender gap since Meister is only available up to 19", which was why I wanted to hear from everyone's input to have some peace of mind.

I think if I don't hear from enough people, either I will run lower aspect ratio, like yourself, or just go with 235/40/19 front and 275/35/19.

I might be wrong but your higher aspect ratio and smaller wheel diameter should offset my lower aspect ratio and larger wheel diameter.

You are absolutely correct, jonmonkey. It's funny I had to bust out a calculator for this discussion.

My main concern is the rear wheel rubbing. Your rear wheel diameter is about 26.73" in diameter based on 285/30/20 while my proposed setup will be about 26.85" per 285/35/19, which is 0.12" higher than yours, so I hope it won't make a difference.

Hello Josh, thanks for offering to get in contact with Work Wheels. I actually got an answer from them already, and they said it's going to be a close call, and it could rub a bit with 19" x 10" rim width. Ultimately, they think it depends on how the sidewall is on the tire. I already placed the order with them, just have to wait for 3 months to be manufactured in Japan, which gives me quite a lot of time to do more research.

Being that it's a close call per Work Wheels, that's why I wanted to hear from all the RC rear-wheel drive owners based on their daily-driving experience.

Thanks again, jonmonkey and Josh.

To be honest I only ended up putting the lower springs on the front. Mainly to level out the wheel gap which is different front to back with the factory set up. After getting the front springs installed I thought the gap was pretty symmetric and felt that by installing the rears I would have rubbing issues. So far I do not notice a difference in the stiffer RS-r springs up front with the factory springs in the back. This might also be why I do not have any rubbing issues.

Nice looking setup, jonmonkey!!

I will circle back in 3 months after I get my wheels and tires installed, hopefully there won't be any delay on Work end since I've heard people waited for more than 3 months on delivery.

Anyway, thanks for all your feedback.

I still hope to hear from "FR500GT" since he has the same size tires, plus his offsets are very close to what I have on order. But I think I read from one post where he mentioned he sold the RC, so maybe he is no longer available here.
