SD Card Read Error

I'm having an issue getting the SD card to read. I get an error that says the card cannot be read and to contact the dealer. The dealer wants me to replace my NAV ECU which is 800 plus labor. They say it's bad. Based on past experience I honestly don't trust them. I think there is another way to fix it and it is possibly not being diagnosed properly. Why do I care so much--it's not under warranty any longer. Any help would be great.

Additional info -- I've tried multiple SD cards, I'm using the latest SD Card, I've updated my firmware to the current release

Not saying you did this but want to make sure we are on the same page....the SD slot is for the map/nav data only. You can not play mp3s off the SD card slot. The only time you would ever take out the SD card out is if you bought a new map file from Lexus. Now if that is clear and it is still failing on you then I would let them replace the NAV ECU.

Try the original SD card if you have it.
Try a different dealer if that doesn't work.

Thanks, I think it's time for another dealer.

I'm not inclined to replace the NAV ECU unless I know either what went wrong with it in the first place or at least why its "bad". If I'm going to pay the money I at least deserve to learn something from it.

I just assumed the vehicle was still under warranty. However if you are paying out of pocket then I would get Lexus Corporate involved and see if you can't get a good faith replacement. There really no reason for this part to bad in my book.
