Cracked in the rim. Repairable?
Sad Sad...Barely have had my car for just over a month and this happens. Ran over who knows what (I looked in the rear view mirror and have no idea what the hell it was) on the fwy this afternoon. I think the tire is finished. Has a puncture on the side wall. I'm still baffled at the outcome. This is 2nd time I have ran over something already with this car. My 2nd week also on the fwy the car in front of me ran over a loose shredded tire and it shot back at me. Had no time to react. Luckily no damage. Anyways, from your experiences, does anyone think this wheel will have trouble holding in air? Fixable?

Tire is definitely gone...as for the rim I would have it inspected when they take the tire off to replace it. Always hard to tell until you can tire off and clean up that area. If its indeed cracked I would replace it and not worry about fixing it. Ebay is a great place to look for replacement rims if one is needed. People will buy scratched or dinged rims, repair and then resell on there. Probably can get a rim for around $200...here is quick example so overall looking at around $500 (tire + rim) of damn it costs

As the previous post mentioned, the tire definitely needs to be replaced.
As for the wheel, it's hard to tell from the pic if it's cracked or scraped / gouged. If it's gouged I'm sure a wheel repair company will able to repair it, but if the wheel is cracked where the spoke meets the rim I would replace it..
Can you tell if the crack goes back along the base of the spoke towards the barrel?

Appreciate the reply's. Like @Sarcoptic mentioned, I would need to take off the tire to see how far the damage leads onto the barrel. It's kinda hard to tell with it on. I think I might just end of replacing the wheel, just to be on the safe side.
As far as the TPMS, If I replace the rim, does that need to be reset?

Sorry to hear about your wheel. I've ordered OEM wheels from Hub Cap Haven -- they source them from all over, some are factory pull-offs, some are wheels that had cosmetic damage and have been repainted.
Here is their selection for the RC3xx: http://www.hubcaphaven.com/c/7384/le...eels_rims.html
I recently purchased wheels for a Acura, no problems at all. Fast shipping. Mint condition wheel (they were brand new, OEM)
