Yes, the high performance brakes on these cars shed a lot of dust. Thankfully mine is black so it doesn't show as much. The only thing you can do is swap out the brake pads for Performance Ceramic brake pads.

Yes, I noticed this in the first week of owning the car. I put splash guard only for the front side from eBay. It helps reducing A LOT of break dust on the side profile.

I didn't realize it was brake dust...been seeing what I thought was just dirt in the same places and the rear. Its so annoying. Maybe some splash guards are in order..

Not so sure it is brake dust. I'm not seeing any on my wheels but I am getting a very fine dust/dirt that seems to stick to the car about half way down the side of the car. There is a ton of static electricity in the dry air around my parts right now that might be causing it. Just a thought.
I'm a bit surprised Lexus hasn't come out with a body molded color of the car splash guard for these cars. I have just 600 miles on my car and it looks like the rocker panels could take it hard.

Believe me it is brake dust. I've had my car for 16 months, and it will take about 2-3 weeks for the rims to get all dirty with brake dust after being washed. Of course the harder you brake the more brake dust is made.

Why not put ceramic pads on to begin with? It might cost them a whopping $15 more per car. Hate when they cheap out on stuff like that.

I use Sonax on my wheels before I wash my car. This makes cleaning the rims so much easier. I also coated my rims with the Cquartz rim sealant

often it's tire dressing slinging off the tire that sprays down your car.

also,... ( as I did )... change your brake pads to ceramic, and brake dust stops....

Did you do an all around Ceramic brake pad change? (Front and back?). I notice a greater deal of dust on my front rims more than the back.

Just the fronts, ive had them for a few months now and cant tell which front or back has more brake dust. Braking feels the same for daily use but i dont track and prolly never will cant give you a compare there

Change all 4 wheels to ceramics, you will be very happy. I always use DuraLast Gold from AutoZone, silent & dust free after about 50 miles to wear in.

Johnny3, i'm looking at your recommendation of the duralast gold pads here: http://www.autozone.com/brakes-and-t...2_232493_3773/

However I did notice autozone offers these as well: http://www.autozone.com/brakes-and-t...87_16108_1196/

I dont need brake pads anytime soon, but Is there any real benefit to the TRW Premium pads that justify price? I'm a noob to performance vehicles coming from my 2003 tacoma lol

TRW is well known for quality parts, however I would not pay 3x the price for them. I have installed the D L golds on at least 6-8 Corvettes & Acuras (those guys love their chrome wheels). They work & they last almost forever.
