Sounds Promising. I look forward to seeing more.

Also great choice in the tablet. I've been using mine nearly every day since last November it's great.

I've been putting my tablet over the screen for a while now. I just put a small black piece of Velcro so it doesn't tip forward when I accelerate. I use the torque app with a bunch of gauges so it looks cool and I can monitor my engine, etc.

That's cool! Yea, I'm looking at apps and utilities that will enhance this set up. Thanks!

Used my iPad Air in the same method via velcro and clear case on the old sc430.

Photos anyone on the RC?

I am interested in the mount / securing method?
It could become a seriously dangerous projectile in the event of an accident.

Thanks

That is a very cool idea. How is the tablet powered in your setup? Battery only?

Thanks! Right, battery only. It's a modified version of the Android OS, so all non-essential background apps have been disabled/removed. That, plus since it's only on while driving, I get nearly 10 days between charges. Then it's easy removal, 30 minutes in the charger and I'm good to go for another 10 days.

I showed the set up to my reps at Lexus, and they were amazed at the simplicity in execution, yet flexibility to integrate into the existing communication system.

Of course, we're starting to see new cars integrating Apple/Android car media information systems. Here are a few links for more info:

Apple CarPlay

Android Auto

WIRED magazine on Android Auto

Thanks for the message!
