Default Got to see and sit in the RC today...

Stopped by a local dealer and got to see and sit in two RC's, a black F Sport with Rioja interior and a nebula luxury with black interior. I liked them both a lot, I'd definitely choose the F Sport for this car, as I would the IS. To me it just better fits the car's character.

They had an RC-F too, in pictures I think the RC-F looks much better than the F Sport, but I liked the F Sport more in person...the RC-F is still better looking IMHO, but the F Sport looks great too.

Loved the tight interior, quality was pretty good, not thrilled with hard plastic lower doors and dash but overall very good.

I'm a fan

While I like the overall interior ambiance of the RC, I too agree with you that Lexus has really downgraded their door panel quality.

Why couldn't Lexus just keep the same door setup as the 2IS?

I'm guessing the entire door of the 3IS & RC is considerably cheaper to produce lol

sorry this is far better looking than the 2IS interior. Above the silver trim on the RC door is ambient LED lighting.

plastic lower doors is fine, that part always gets kicked and scuffed getting out. You dont want nicer less durable material there or it will get tore up.

Yeah the door is much better looking, no question. As for the hard plastic...its not there to be durable...its there as a cost saving measure. The GS and above has a soft padded door.

It should be a padded door in a luxury automobile, the previous IS, ES, RX had padded lower doors...the new ones don't.

But...thats a small issue in an otherwise great looking and feeling interior.

best part of IS is lower plastic panels which are way better than in anything this price range... problem is that upper ones are not that great quality, and thats what you see, touch and hear daily (I have IS).

Did you feel a difference between the side seat bolsters in the RC luxury vs the RC F Sport? Reason I'm asking: All my dealer has are F sports, and the side bolsters are pretty tight. Wondering if the RC luxury's are basically the same close fit as the F Sport...or (hopefully) a little wider (or have a softer padding).

Yeah the F Sport's seats are definitely more bolstered.
