When do pre-orders/deposits happen?

If I wanted one 1-2 months after release, you think I would be able to walk in to a dealership and get one without pre order?

1-2 months is kind of too soon... if you want to pick the option, go to your local dealer and talk... i would do it now and be able to pick all the options from first boat.

Orders are often up to the salesman. Many dealerships will have a waiting list, at least on an informal basis, when a new model is announced. I would suggest you call around to see what different places are doing. I was on a waiting list for 18 months to get my SC430. Sometimes they want a deposit, especially if you are not an existing customer.
And if you have time, I am curious at to what the difference is between an order and a pre-order. They seem like the same thing to me.

Just talked to a sale rep at a Lexus close to home now. There is no official plan to release on the RC yet. The NX however will be here in around Fall. That is what he said. Also, no word on any specifications of the NX just yet.

But....!!! BUT .... the NX will be here at the Cleveland AUTOSHOW!!! Yikes

NorCal dealerships: cars arriving late summer; a waiting list is supposedly already going and have been getting plenty of responses. Then again, this is coming from a salesman, so could just be their sales tactic.
Good friend tells me they will let him know when they start arriving - keep y'all posted!

RC expected release is in Fall. In between September - October. NX will release before the RC.

Someone scanned the Pre Order form on the RC F forum, the form includes the RC cars also, only pre ordering for 11 states right now, mostly warm weather states

It lists Exceed Blue Metallic as a FSport color. Not USB. I hope it's close to USB.

I think Ultrasonic is one word, so the color would be UB. Instead we get EBM, which sounds medical.
