i wish RC models cost $3k more than their counterpart IS models. anything over that would be a tough sell imo.

Probably the RC350 base will be in the mid $40K US. The RC350 F-Sport in the $53 - $56K range.

A typically configured 435i M-Sport was priced to be about $65K on the bmw forums :

Still a 10K delta between RC and 4 series. Those who turn their heads initially to 435i will come running back to Lexus from the sticker shock.

that's fully loaded, not typical, if you just add M-Sport, premium and technology packages, msrp comes out to $55k. $65k is when you checked all the boxes.

I would expect the RC350 to base around $45K with the F Sport basing closer to $51K. Expect a fully loaded F Sport with all options ticked off to hit the $57K mark easily. That would put it about $7-8K below a fully optioned out 435i which seems about right to me.

agree, that sounds about right. time indeed had changed, 10 years ago $60k can buy you a brand new fully loaded M3

it will probably be $5k under 435i, not $8k... and you probably wont be able to load F-Sport, so pricing will be limited to some $55k max, which is some $5k more than IS.

this would be similar to 3 vs IS pricing as well. Base BMW's are always better priced but Lexus has more options and much cheaper packages overall.

You cant find IS350 with base options at all. IS350 is either Luxury or F-Sport, with very few being base with options and is $45k-50k. There are only 3 IS350's in the USA under 45k right now, and on website base is $40k.

So quite likely, pricing for available RC350 will start at $50k and most of them will be more towards $55k. This will also be $5k-$7k under GS as well.

Just guessing from what they have been doing in past and with IS350 F-Sport.

Unless you guys think that they will price RC under IS350 :-)

^ I could see that spwolf. The RC 350 starting at $45K was wishful thinking on my part. But, I expect the RC to run in the $50-60K price range.

Would there be any reason to think the RC might be lower in price than the IS?? I know it is a new model. But it is also less car with the same power...Just curious?!?! Plus wont the interiors be relatively identical?

I doubt it. Best case scenario is there's a slight premium for the RC over a comparable IS350. But, that is highly unlikely given how Lexus is positioning the RC in their lineup.

I wouldn't say it is less car. From the preliminary and promotional information thus far released, the RC will have a strengthened and stiffer chassis than even the IS and have suspension changes that make it handle even better than the IS. Just because it has less rear room doesn't make it "less" car.

Traditionally, Coupe variants always command a price premium over their Sedan brethren. See E-class coupe, C-class coupe, 4 series vs 3 series, A5 vs A4 etc...

Right. Technically, you can say an A5 is less car than an A4 because it has two less doors and a smaller backseat, but the interior and mechanicals are virtually the same and it commands a price premium because it is a coupe. No reason to think the RC won't start higher than the IS.
