Reports are saying the RC F will come first. I find this hard to believe....

What would be interesting in the RC 2.0 Turbo and 2.5 Hybrid would be a flat-4.

This is what I know about the RC and RC-F according to today's Lexus Product Council meeting:

- There will be a optional Carbon Fiber package ala E90 M3's could be equipped with them and were great sellers (for RC-F)
- Ventilated seats should be offered
- Priced base low 60's on up to low 70's packages for RC-F
- RC350 will bow first in third quarter of 2014 as a 2015 model
- RC200t will arrive after the RC350 (no word on RC-F arrival)

A low 60s-70s RC-F with a naturally aspirated V8 and it's attendant soundtrack would be an incredibly tempting option for performance enthusiasts who dislike M3/M4 going turbo.

Will the RC350 have an updated engine?

From what I've heard sadly the same tired engine at that point.

I'm sure $70k will be one that is all optioned out. A base one at $70k and BMW and Audi look to be the better options.

The 3.5L needs an 8AT and some massaging, perhaps ValveMatic, if it's to continue into 2015 and beyond. Don't forget that this basic block and design debuted in 2004 as a 2005 model (the Avalon). It's now basically a decade old, and hasn't really seen an update.

Yes, RC-F will start at low 60k and max out at mid 70s.

From my memory, both the RS5 and the previous M3 coupe start at 60k and max out at 90k, the Germans are still more $ comparably equipped.

The RC350 will have a 8AT, since the IS350 already has it today.

the rs5 went up to 90+ i am pretty sure, but i think the e9x m3 didn't get that high? the e93 convertible was the most expensive but i think it ended around 85ish?

for sure the rcf will be cheaper just like isf against competitors. that's always a great thing about lexus

Euros are hard with so much a la carte options and now extra bespoke options.

From my memory, the RS5 coupe max out at $88k with every available options, it does have 4WD hardwares and bigger 20" wheels that the M3 and RCF don't have.

To be fair, the DCT E92 M3 coupe max out at $80k, without any of the "Individual" options or M performance parts.

Yes the RCF will still have better value to continue the Lexus tradition.

RC-F should be a win considering it will have the V8 and potential lower pricing than the M4. The chassis of the GS/IS is solid baseline.

Few things that may potentially hurt the RC-F : if it has horrendous styling (not likely), price over 100k, lack of a DCT, lack of brand/model recognition bias.
