This might be a dumb question but does adding exhaust system void warranty or anything?

 

Axle back exhaust system is fine , I was told by my dealer.

Anything aftermarket that damage something, the warranty could be denied.

 

This is the information I was given directly by the dealership. The axle-back is fine( mufflers only). It will void your muffler warranty, but nobody cares about that lol. They said by adding a different exhaust, if there are any external/internal rattles on the car they will not be covered anymore. Anything involving the midpipe forward will void your emission/catalytic converter warranty. On my is200T, the midpipe has the resonator AND secondary cats. If you mod the exhaust, buy an aftermarket midpipe and keep the factory one in storage to switch before any dealership visit. Cats are not cheap, my 2IS350 cats went bad and the dealer wanted $6k for them.
