I was told at an import tuner shop that after the installation of an air intake/filter you need to reset the ECU, and they had a Maxima 95-99 being reset. I was wondering is this necessary on Lexus cars??? If so, how is it done???

i have the SRT intake/ECU. when my mechanic installed the intake/ECU all we did was disconnect the battery before we started. at the end, connected the battery and no problems...(except for buying new tires, due to the fact of a lot of tire smokin burn outs)...:cool:

Ikon - It seems to refresh the throttle response & hard launches of my GS if I pull the 20 amp yellow fuse ( labeled ECU B ) twice a month & leave it out for about 30 minutes. I believe it dumps the memory of the previous driving style ( adaptive learning ) which, in my case, is my slow-poke driving wife! The GS launches harder & responds to throttle input more readily after doing so but gradually fades back to a more "Normal" driving style after a week or two. It's just easier to pull that fuse than to disconnect battery cables & has the same result. BTW - U will lose your seat memory settings so be sure & have the seat in the position U want it in & reprogram them back in when U re-install the fuse.
