Default Will Lexus dealerships in CA service car if it has an illegal intake?

Was recently gifted a Lexus IS250 that has an intake that isn't CARB legal. I want to get it serviced just so I know everything's good to go. Will Lexus dealerships care if I have an illegal air intake when I bring my car in for service?

Though I'm far from being in Cali, I'd assume as long as the dealership doesn't have to touch the intake you'll be fine. But call up the service dept and ask yourself to confirm.

I have an aftermarket Intake and neither Santa Monica nor Cerritos Lexus have ever given me issue, though the SA did recommend I return to stock for my 30K service since it includes a new air filter.. But if I don't they will simply skip that part..

I’m from NE Ohio where we do a emissions checks. I would say yes. It’s just a intake. Your dealer is a private business and CARB is state government regulatory board. You should be fine, I really don’t the tech working on your vehicle will care.

You won’t run into any issues with an aftermarket intake unless it’s the cause of any problems you may have. Even police officers don’t really care about intakes anymore from my personal experience. Just have fun and enjoy your car!
