Highly disappointed - Determined to tune my IS200t
I made this in the general forum and then realized it should probably go here ... sorry if you are seeing this for the second time
I bought a beautiful 2017 IS200t F-Sport recently and love every bit of the car with the exception of the lack of power.
I chose the 200t over the 350 because I knew (or thought) that the turbo engine was the right choice for tuning.....coming from a BMW 335i coupe, I was under the impression that I'd be able to drop in a big FMIC, get some downpipes and a tune and push an easy 300whp+.
I am an idiot and should have done my research first. Please correct me if I am wrong, but it looks like as of right now there is no way to tune the ECU on these cars without getting a standalone ECU, which is also not an option because the standalone ECU would also need to be able to control all the other aspects of the car.
I am really hoping that there is some solution available or on the horizon. Does anyone know if there is a way to tune these engines?

Welcome boost!
There are a number of threads in this section re: tunes, turbo rebuilts (upgrade), and downpipes. Do a little browsing with the search function on the right.

The IS200t is not a fast car. Above average, if your average is like a Civic/Camry/Optima etc.
My biggest complaint is the horrendous throttle delay. I want the car to react when I hit the pedal, and it doesn't. Makes some traffic situations dangerous.
That being said, the 'IS200t Tune' thread is where you want to look. TTi and others are hard at work making improvements for our cars via ECU reflash.

Agree. We do have a couple ECU re-flash programs available where tuners are able to adjust some variables like boost and timing, but we need a system that allows full dyno tuning capabilities. I think the 8AR-FTS motor is still in the early stages and hope they continue to expand on its aftermarket performance upgrades.
