Hello everyone, we have sold and installed the Injen Intake
part # sp2087p
for our local customer on his 2016 Lexus is200T. This Intake also works for the 2016 Lexus rc200t for those who are curious. This specific intake picked up +8rwhp & +3rwtq on a Dyno jet. No other mods besides this Intake. We did 2 pases with the same temp conditions. I don't doubt those are the #s you got, but I do doubt they were because of the intake. A turbo car can be +/- by those amounts simply by waiting. Turbo cars are inconsistent. Not saying it's impossible, but unlikely, IMO. Turbo cars that make much higher power don't gain anything from an aftermarket intake, and in some cases actually lose hp. These types of results can be interpreted/relayed in various ways to fit the goal of the post: which is to sell intakes.
The best way to verify this is run more than one stock car back to back to back to back and see how much the #s vary.
Then do the same w/ the intake on the same cars with same or similar conditions. Do the gains (Note GAINS, not necessarily absolute #s), on average, on the intake car show higher, on average, than all the stock cars? Then and only then I'd be convinced.
One more thing, lets assume the gains due to the intake are correct, they would not be sufficient to be perceived by the driver. This has been tested before and you'd need at least a 10% increase in power to be perceived by the "butt dyno"
Again, assuming the intake caused the gains claimed. Which I doubt.
Personally I'd just remove the charcoal filter and throw in a drop in Lexus F Sport filter and call it a day.
