25 years ago, I had open drag pipes (no baffle, no slash cut, nothing) on my 1200cc 90 HP (Branch heads, Mikuni HS40, Crane ignition) Harley-Davidson Evo Sportster, which I rode to work (my house in Uniondale to the Queens Criminal Court in Kew Gardens).
The effect on other drivers was amazing, they got the &%#? away from me the instant I rapped at them (instead of crowding me in my own lane), but you can't stand that noise all the time, you go deaf.
