If anyone knows where to find a 4 inch bypass, I'd be all over it. Guess I should have used 3.5" tubing...

Glad y'all like my slow V8! I'm happy with it, but I do realize even a STOCK LS1 would annihilate my heavy pig of a Lexus.

If you guys had a choice of the next major mod for the GS293, would you:

A- Single turbo with front mount intercooler

OR

B- T56 6 speed transmission swap

I cannot afford both right away. It's a bit of a toss up for me. I'm supposed to be a responsible dad here...

the T56 6 speed transmission swap will be way more fun.... and wake that car/motor up

also make your own 4" AEM style bypass then

the transmission upgrade is almost a no brainer. theres no point in more power if you cant put it to the ground efficiently.

Gah! You guys are no fun!

I had the opportunity to buy an LS1 t56 from a 99 camaro with 120k miles@ $1350. I passed because I just can't shell out that kinda dough!

I kinda wish my $100 trans would break, then I could justify it. I have found a solstice 5 speed for about 300 bucks. But from there, another custom drive shaft, swap my bell housing on, and HOPE the input shafts are the same length....

Dunno if it's even worth pursuing. I just keep searching for t56 or tr6060 I guess.

That was a steal for the t56. I see them going upwards of $2000 on the east coast.

Oh? So you're saying I should be buying the brand new corvette t56 that's available to me for $850?? That will require lots of other spendy parts, it's missing the reverse gear, needs a bell housing, input shaft and tail housing.

That adds up to around 1500, or more...

Got tired of attempting to tint the windows on my GS. I sorta got the rear side windows ok by myself, but when doing the front sides?? Could NOT get the fingers to work out.... So instead of buying more ebay pre cut tint, I coughed up the $250 for a professional job.

I just went to change my tranny oil I swear!! I wanted to fix a leak at the shifter and fill through it too, and I just started thinking about how an extension could be made for the shifter... And started working on it.

The old Celica donated yet another part to my Lexus; the plastic shifter pedestal. I cut off the shift cable studs, cut off the shift elbow and welded a 1/2" piece of square stock on, about 1 inch tall. The very last thing I did was screw this pedestal down, wary of the final location.

I welded a 2 inch long piece of square on to the trans shift lever, this one having 5 holes for adjustment. I used the rest of the square key stock for added beef on the linkage.

The main bar is 1/8x3/4 bar stock. Bolts are 1/4" grade 8, I hope that's not a mistake. This whole assembly cost me 20 dollars in metal. There is a lot of adjustment available with the extra holes. I haven't driven it yet but I'll repost when I do.
