Some guys cut the plate down, i just hammered until it didn't hit anymore. Didn't take a lot, but NO MORE NOISES!

Took the GS to a local car meet, guys more around my age, real mature event i liked it. Had a bunch of guys interested in my swap, so that was cool. Was a bunch of in town driving, but i got 19.4MPG on that trip. So car is running good

Got little bro's engine, clutch is at parts store, i got the C60 cleaned up, new syncro installed. Just gotta try and remember how that all goes back together LOL. He lucked out, i got a C60 diff with a Phantom Grip installed years ago in a celica flip deal, so in she goes! I know, they're not a real lsd, but if it works for a while, cool.

Default nice

good job. must be fun to drive. two things i noticed while reading. first, when you ran your audio amp power and ground cables, do my eyes deceive me or are you power and grounds right next to each other. if so, thats a big no no. itll cause interference and static noise. gotta separate. second. you thought the car stops so much better now the oil came out your dipstick? thatd be cool but i think whats actually happening is your dipstick tube has a crack in it and oil is leaking out. very common on the ls engines. double check it. id love to go for a ride in that thing. probably pulls really strong.

Damn. From one project, straight into another!

I'm glad the swap is running well. It's taken quite a bit to get to this point.

LOL You got me, my dipstick is broken, i discovered that's why it spewed that little bit. The amp wiring though, i ran the hot cable, but ground is separate, ran from the rear strut tower. No interference that I've noticed.

Swap is running great, my reply must have gotten cutoff. I mentioned that it is getting the same or better mpg than before. About 10 city and 21.5 highway so far. I haven't gotten it on a long trip but i bet it does better than the last setup despite being a bigger engine.

Couple things, hooked up a 2 step I've been playing with, that's fun but i still can't launch worth a **** lol. Today i ordered a super pro rear sway bar due to the lex feeling like a skyscraper around corners.

I was THIS CLOSE to ordering an X Link throttle harness instead, but it has enough power for now, the ride needs attention too.

Time to get you some proper coilovers. That will totally change the on road behavior of the car.

I had these on mine: https://www.tf-works.com/stance-xr1-...0-gs400-97-05/

I absolutely loved them. The best part is, they are local! (Wheeling, IL) so if anything happens with them, you can have in-person support.

I think you'll be very happy with that bar. Some of the bushings it shipped with were the wrong size so if they don't fit thats why. They have a new revised design

I forgot to mention, i did get the bar installed, only broke one bolt. Even reused the links! It helped sway some, but i think it really needs the front to minimize sway as much as i would like. Combined with low down torque from the 6 liter, she's way more tail happy than it used to be.

A stiffer rear sway bar than front tends to cause snap oversteer. I would definitely upgrade the front too

Finally got to take the GS to the 1/4 mile. Currently low 13s, i think if i really nailed it, a high 12s car...

But, on one of my really good hooks, i bent my drive shaft. It started vibing bad and i shut it down after my 5th pass.

So i got it removed and am gonna have a beefier one made!

My $400 slicks are gonna cost me another 300
