When I purchased my rr racing tune I don't believe or can't remember if they ask me about my setup. But Simon did mentioned that it was a self learning tune just like the Lexus ecu. So for those of you who purchase the tune for your Lexus IS350 with no mods installed on it just plain stock. Every time you decide to add one mod at a time. The rr racing tune will self learn to adjust to give your car the maximum performance out of that mod you installed. Simon mentioned there's no need to retune every time you add a new mod.
I thought it was a tune specific for the mods you have?
for example- if you decided the get headers tomorrow I'm sure they would have to send you a new file for the CEL and/or map changes after that?
They didn't touch my existing tune when they did the headers/exhaust.
Did you get your tune and exhaust done all at once?
For my case, I only have cat back exhaust so if I got headers which would cause the CEL for o2 Sensors, RR would have to send me a new file that deletes the CEL for o2 sensors?

I got the tune first at bone stock then drove the car for at least a year and start modding. Never touched the tune, but just had to do ECU reset for good measure every time I add/remove something.
RR racing tune will accept every bolt-on (exhaust, headers, intakes) without re-flashing the ECU, up until the supercharger upgrade. They can always chime in if my post needs correction.

Maybe it's a different ECU file on a '17? I got the tune first at bone stock then drove the car for at least a year and start modding. Never touched the tune, but just had to do ECU reset for good measure every time I add/remove something.

Did you notice any differences going from stock to just tune? What redline did you choose?
Big difference right away and that "sluggishness" that everyone is complaining about is gone.
I chose 7200 rev limit - was told that 7400 is not even worth getting.
ive been debating tune for like a year, but it’s like $800 CAD last time I checked. Do you have the 6 speed or 8 speed tranny? How much funner is the car now with the 7200 redline? Stock redline is so early that just as the car feels like it’s starting to really haul *** it shifts.

I got the 6-speed tranny. The only reason I got the tune was because of the sluggishness of the IS300 which gets all the benefits of the RR racing tune. I have never driven an IS350 so I don't know the real life difference between the two. All I know is they have exactly the same engine and the IS300 is a detuned IS350.

oh ok so you got wayyyy more power than a stock 300. You’d have more than a 350 now. I’ve got a 350 so trying to figure out if $800 is worth 10 whp and the higher redline.

If I had a 350, I'd probably be happy with it. Just like I said, only reason why I went with the tune was because of the obvious - $800 for an instant upgrade to a 350 (minus the AVS and some goodies).

its fun to drive and it’s quick but since the day I got it I felt redline should be higher. Seeing it shift around 6500-6600rpm is a let down every time. I’d love to see it rev past 7000. I feel like it would make the car funner.

Agree with you 100% on that and you won't regret the tune if you decide to get it. RR Racing put a lot of hours making it a very reliable tune for our cars.
What would be better, Are there any extreme differences between catless PPE or Cat Flowmaster? If I was going the SC route would it still be okay with Flowmaster Cat Headers with Invidia Mid pipe and Tsudo exhaust?

Never heard of that brand. Go PPE, stick with quality especially with a supercharger.
Contact us for pricing on PPE headers.
