After doing more and more research I'm thinking a 2jzgte vvti swap might be in the works. Still playing around with the idea. Does anyone have experience with this supercharger kit?

the 400/430 is limited to mods and increasing HP. a 2j swap sounds much better

I am still playing around with the idea but I have already been talking to a guy who would do the swap so we will see!

When I was doing my homework on 300 vs 400 the general consensus was that, yes, the GS300 starts off with less power but its your better option to build a fast car from. The GS400 is nice if you only plan to do a couple of go-fast mods and are mostly satisfied with power near 250-300.
With so much support for the Supra the only limit with a 2JZ is your wallet.

The 1UZ is a sturdy motor with a great torque band, but 245rwhp just isn't cutting it for me! I could be completely satisfied driving my car the way it is now forever, but a 2JZGTE VVTi just sounds like so much more fun.

Carlos, whats the most noticeable performance mod you've done? Did you do headers before intake or after? I'm thinking PPE headers just because I already have the cat.back. Just trying to get a feel which direction I'm going next. thanks

Obviously they don't add any power but it multiplies the power being made and puts it to the ground...when you're not sideways that is. Lol 😃 Unfortunately, parts and install for this combo will probably set you back close to $2500. The whole tranny has to come down and apart to install the TC.

If you think the headers wake the car up, wait until you throw a 3000 stall torque converter combined with the Supra 3.73 gears! This is an even more dramatic difference IMHO.

TC can be installed without dropping the entire tranny from the car. I did it twice now by un bolting the 8 bolts that hold the tranny to the engine and dropping only the front of the tranny just enough to slide the tc out. Still a bit time consuming but much easier than dropping the entire tranny. I used 4 jack stands to give me enough room to work under the car.
