Rock's SC install is finally done!

***update, see last post!***
Hey all. So I finally got a chance to install my SRT Stage 3 supercharger kit on my GS400 (#006 of I think 25 every built - probably less of this model was built). I appreciate everyone's help that have been following my threads and answering questions of mine. I have done a ton of research and asked a lot of questions before jumping into this. There are a few members that I'd like to specifically thank throughout this process:  Porn-adk JeffTsai BigL Passnu2 Speedaddic DaveGS4 Basically everything is done and installed except for the tuning piece. Unfortunately, I bought a used AEM FIC-8 piggyback; I suspect there's a problem with it. It was making the car do a lot of funky things like skew the AFRs and other things even when all maps where zero'd out; so I sent it out to AEM and they are inspecting it as we speak. The car is currently just running off the stock ECU at the moment; ridiculously rich...I have a rich code / CEL that recently popped up too. Anyway, I still have been driving it very mildly around town, keeping her under 3K RPMs just so the car doesn't sit. It starts fine, idles well and drives similar to stock when driven mildly. I obviously have not gotten on it at all because I am still on the stock ECU and with my 440cc injectors that could spell disaster. Once I tune it and get it running good I should be in the ballpark of around 400 - 430whp @ 8.5psi, Here's my mod list from the SC install: (my other mods are in my sig) :) SRT Stage 3 supercharger Custom CNC bracket 8.5lbs pulley SS oil feed / drain lines K&N air filter Spearco intercooler Intercooler piping (powder coated - Alien Silver) Custom SRT red IC piping couplers Custom CNC radiator inlet spacer for clearance Dayco Micro-V SC belt AEM FIC-8 piggyback ECU Boomslang custom ECU harness NGK Iridium BKR7-EIX spark plugs Walbro 255LPH hi-flow fuel pump 440cc RC fuel injectors Custom PnP harnesses for fuel injectors AEM Wideband gauge kit AEM Boost gauge kit Custom dual gauge pod for ashtray Here are some pics. I have since relocated the PS reservoir; the feed line had a pretty bad kink in it (where it was previously relocated - the back near the battery). |
Here's a quick vid of the startup, idle and rev. The video does not do justice...the blow off sound is so pronounced but not in this video; Maybe it's how I shot the clip - you couldn't hear it really. Enjoy!

all i can say Rock is WOW..... looks really good and sounds great as well..... Looks like is was well worth the 4 years lol..... Better to be done right the first time than doing it twice...
I'm speechless lol.... |
Back when I had my gs430 supercharged, i drove with the larger injectors in prior to getting the car tuned and I killed my cats in under 2 weeks. Careful....
Looks awesome btw |
UGH! im jealous. congrats
|
also..cant wait to see the power after the tune
on my other cars ive always went with a safe tune that way they last a long time |
Sounds and looks good. what part of NY are you from and are you comign out to the NELOC BBQ this weekend.

Very nice! Well worth the wait. Looking forward to seeing a video when it's running right.
|
Thanks everyone thus far for the kind words.
I will post plenty of videos for all to see once this thing is running safe and sound on a good tune. As you all know, supercharged 2GS videos are limited everywhere (ie YouTube); I will be sure to revive this to show the potential of our cars when SC'd. Stay tuned!!! |
Looks and sounds great! Looking forward to the end result once she's tuned. I was experiencing the some crazy issues also with my Split Second piggy back, so I'll be running off of my stock ECU until I get a new piggy back. I'll have to get some info from you about your boomslang harness.

I keep finding myself back on this thread! Damn you Rock!!!!
