Question Direct fit y-pipe..Magnaflow 24321?

I need to replace the y-pipe on my '02 gs430. From what I read the magnaflow 24321 is a direct fit replacement. Has anyone installed one of these? Any issues?

Any other aftermarket options besides the magnaflow?

The item in the red circle is what I'm referring to in case I got it wrong.

Thanks,

You know... I've never seen that piece. But it definitely looks better than the OEM replacement I purchased that had crush bent piping.

* If I were you, I'd contact Magnaflow directly and ask them whether or not this piece actually fits the GS430, as it also shows being compatible with the SC430 which has a shorter y-pipe. I purchased the Megan Racing SC430 pipe a while back but eventually sold it and the guy who bought it said he had to have an extension welded on it to mate it to the rest of the exhaust. So... just a heads up.

Good to know, I'll contact them first.

Thx

Just checked magnaflow's website and it does list it as being compatible to the gs430 as well as the sc430. Highly suspect if the sc430 has a shorter y-pipe.

I found my Y-Pipe cracked yesterday on my '01 GS 430 and also look for a replacement and consider the magnaflow Y-Pipe...are there any other options?

Anyone know the difference between y-pipes on a gs400 & gs430. Mine cracked but I welded in some 2" flex sections were they cracked. I would like to replace the pipe with a better flowing unit but haven't had any luck finding a aftermarket unit. Wondering if this one would work on my 99 gs400. Just checked and the part number in your diagram and in the one for the gs400 are the same.

One has a third cat and the other has a resonator. Otherwise, they're exactly the same.

I just noticed that the part #s are different between the one you have in the picture (1741050210) and the one I need for my GS430 (1741050330) I would assume because they have different actual part numbers there maybe some slight differences.

I'm considering taking my car to a custom exhaust shop that's near me. Any one knows anything about grades of metal on what should be used?

Please read the few previous posts. I already explained what the differences were between the GS400 and GS430 pipes. You can even go on Sewell and see the difference in the diagram pictures. However, either part will fit either car... they're interchangeable.

If you're taking it to a place that specializes in custom exhausts, I'm sure they'll know what to use to build your pipe. Just give them a call and ask them what they use.

I believe 16 gauge is the norm and most shops will use aluminized steel if your on a budget. If sky is the limit then stainless is the way to go.

Yeah, just wanted to point out the part # differences, didn't intend to say your info was wrong.

Regarding the custom exhaust shop, I wanted to go in there with some knowledge as oppose to having them sell me on my stupidity.

So I called Magnaflow today regarding their 24321 direct fit y-pipe; they said it was a new item for this year. They only sold 21 of them so far and they haven't had any reports of adjustments that are required for the GS430 installs.

I'm going to get a quote from the custom exhaust shop, if there price is under $500 then I'll go with them, if not I'll try out the magnaflow 24321 and will report back if there are any issues.
