Default F Sport Exhaust Installation

Does the dealer need to install the F Sport Exhaust to have the warranty still be valid? I plan on doing it myself and I'm wondering if there is any "fine print" or anything I should be aware of. Thanks.

Is the F sport exhaust already out here in Canada?

I purchased mine from Sewell lexus (it's from texas). On a previous post a member PM'ed me about it. I'm not paying $1695 plus tax for an axle back to a Canadian dealer.

So in order to keep the warranty you must bring it to a Lexus dealership to install it.

I called and talked to Lexus service today. It would be approx 1.5 hours for the install and cost roughly $140. Am I the only one that thinks the install should be more like 20 mins? Its on 4 bolts and axle back, factory fitment on the original hangers... I'm trying to understand and justify why I would pay that much to install it.

Also asked, the warranty would indeed be void, however the warranty on the F sport parts is only 1 year anyways.

Anyone have suggestions?

warranty can only be voided if the install itself directly caused a malfunction. So easy to install yourself. I did a 2IS axle back exhaust in under 1 hour without a lift and with only me doing it. 1.5 hours is a huge overestimate

Yeah it doesn't take too long mine was pretty quick and straight forward , you should ask to speak to a service manager at your dealership and see if you can get the price lowered and explain how the process wouldn't take nearly that long...good luck

According to Lexus, if you install the F Sport accessories anywhere outside dealership, you have 1 year limited warranty on the F sport parts starting from the date of your purchase. If you install it at the dealer, the F Sport carries the same warranty as your car warranty (5 years or so ??). However, F Sport exhaust is not a wear and tear item so it will last forever lol.

installing axle back exhaust does NOT affect your car warranty unless the installation or part cause the failure of other parts and even so, they need to prove it before not honor the warranty. I spoke to many service advisers about this since I have extended warranty on my car. If you don't touch the engine or do any crazy thing to the engine, you should be good with warranty.
