2JZ-GTE conversion in a GS: What's needed?

Is this a complete list?

-2jz-gte
-Auto transmission
-Intake Manifold
-Throttle body
-Stock turbos
-Oil pump, water pump, etc.
-ECU
-Harness
-Alternator
-Starter
-Flywheel
-Fuel
-Gauge cluster, shifter
  • Will the stock intercoolers fit under the GS hood?
  • Is a custom driveshaft needed?
  • Would the rear differential hold 450+ rwhp?
  • Could a converted car pass emissions?
  • Suppose all of the above parts were bought for $4000. How much would the entire project run?
  • Any links to information about GS 2JZ-GTE swaps on the Internet?

Thanks for any info.

get over the thought and get an supercharger or turbo. Couple has tried the idea of switching the japan spec V300 (2jz-gte) into GS300. So far no GS with that setup has been up and running yet. The converstion from non turbo GS300 to VVTI 2jz-GTE is just too time consuming and complicated. (V300's car has been in shop for years, and still not done)

so, better try some other solution.

gsintensive has some good points about the conversion.

it might be easier if you stripped the car to the frame in the engine bay...
and transfered part by part and wire for wire from a JDM V300 to get everything working properly.

it'll be a long and costly project, but i think once you're done, the reward will be that you've got one rare car!

:o)

i've been thinking of a twin turbo setup, built engine, and a GM 350 powerglide tranny...

hehehehee, 700+ to the wheels on a V8 twin turbo....
that would be some fun stuff

V300's car has been ready for a few weeks now. He posted about it on CL.
If people are really serious about such a conversion, he is the man.

Richie is talking about the first link below. Also SRT's Stage V(GS300/ IS) is a straight 2JZ-GTE engine swap & tranny swap. You get(to start) 500RWHP(around 640hp at the flywheel) for $19,995. Of course from there you can further tune the car for higher hp.

Yes, I am reffering to the 1st thread JAC JZS posted.

S&P Engineering in City of Industry California
has a GS 400 from washington and a supra engine which I saw was going into it.

They can give you a list and pricing. I think they told me 20,000-30,000 depending on tranny and how you want your engine built ie(single or twin turbo, pulleys, cams...)
3-4months would be my guess on a time frame?

The only thing I would worry about is the electric system for warning lights, tranny, oil... conect with the lexus computer? I could see the computer and or new ECU's compatability with all the parameters of a different car?
