Default Next Chapter For My GS - Swap or Bolt-on Turbo?

I have contemplated very hard on selling my car over the last couple of months if I decide to keep it I want to get some work done on the motor which currently has about 67,000 miles.

For the last two plus years I have accomplished most of the exterior and ICE mods which i wanted.

I need some input from the expert on how to pursue on the motor build (excuse my ignorance on this topic) .

Bolt on turbo or swap? Looking for something that will be less headache and easy to maintain.
I am not looking to gain crazy HP as I am not into speed like that. I just need something that will sweetened up the engine bay area at shows.

I guess is boils down to budget and what your willing to spend... Bolt on Turbo i think is much less expensive than a complete engine swap... Either one will complete the look of your car IMO..... car looks great and love the custom body kit.. always have.. GL bro

Key things. 67K miles, less headache, easy to maintain, not looking to gain crazy hp.

If it was me i would clean up engine bay, powercoat covers, and go with a NA setup.

If I had a GS300 and wanted more power, my first choice would be a 1UZ V8 swap. All the parts are available for the swap since it was available from the factory that way. In my case, I bought a beaten down GS400 for $4000 and took all the parts I needed from this car to do the swap into mine. Down the road, I might even upgrade to the 4.3 or the 4.6. Better handling because the engine is lighter and 300+ ft/lbs of torque. It'll pass emissions too which no JDM swap will.

if it aint broke dont fix it. find some asthetic pieces to add. can always do chrome or powdercoat some stuff. friend off mine was in the same boat you are. well $20k later and built motor and drivetrain he wishes he would have left it alone because he hardly drives it anymore. g/l with what ever you decide

why on earth would you do an engine swap or fork out over 4k for a bolt on turbo if speed is not your thing.... Your a waste of money. You should just give that money to someone on this forum who actually wants and would actually enjoy a 2jz swap or bolt on turbo. Your like one of those guys who have tahoes and want to supercharge it just to say " its supercharged " save your money and just get the bay painted. Nvm just go buy a tahoe.

I see your point. I might gun it once in a blue moon when i actually do drive the car, LoL.

Bay is already painted chameleon green and changes when the sun hits it.

Will see...

Could always go the bottle route... I'm still considering it for the 430 but not too sure how the Germans would feel about it lol
