What's up CL, so yesterday I put the Greddy Evo 3 axle back exhaust on my wife's car. To my surprise for an axle back it's loud almost to loud. Interior cabin noise sounded like I had installed a full cat back system, definitely to loud for my wife. Does that seem right?

Comparing the sound to my 2GS axle back I want to say on the IS its 3x louder. Could I have a possible leak? I didn't change the stock flange but did use the flange that came with the system for the connection at the "Y" portion.

All the clips/videos/reviews I've seen say its pretty mellow and most seem to want to change the mid pipe to make it louder. (I want the exact opposite)

I was hoping for a subtle beefiness in sound and a nicer look. I'm afraid it's starting to sound like a rice rocket.

Any input/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Okay just got back from shop and no leak. My question now is does the stock HKS exhaust for the IS have as much interior drone as the Greddy Evo 3?

My only issue with the Greddy Evo 3 is the interior drone.

I think I'm going to sell the Greddy...anyone got something they want to trade with less to no interior drone?

the drone quiet down for me after 2 weeks

wut u mean by "stock hks"?

there's only hks hipower which is worse than the evo3
and then there's lexus hks which is like fsport but little quieter

I was referring to the stock HKS (F-sport) exhaust or anything quieter than Evo 3 & HKS hi power.

Thanks for input tho. Ill rock it for a couple weeks and see if there's any change to interior drone.

heard evo 3 on a buddys car it was pretty loud.
louder then my joe z full cat back exhaust

I think you should give it another 500 miles to break it in and see if it gets quieter. If not, sell it and use the money for another exhaust, or trade it for a tanabe medallion + cash on top

That's just the Lexus HKS.....not fsport, and definitely not stock

Honestly if you want a quiet exhaust, while its your WIFE'S car.....just go with either Tanabe or Greddy SP/SE.....

A week ago I installed a invidia midpipe and evo3 exhaust and its pretty loud. I wanted to sell it or trade it and get the SP-elite. I agree with LexusFeEva. Did you have this resolved?
