Default GS400 and SRT intake

Hey CL, got a question about installing this intake and was hoping you guys could help me out. Now of all the SRT intake installs I have read about, I have never heard of any problems arising from the race ecu that comes with the intake for the 2GS. I took mine to a shop today to see if they could install it for me and the guy said that he's done many SRT installs for the IS300. However, it seems that after 2-3 months it messes up the TPS (I can't remember what it was called exactly, but it was something close to that). He said that how it works, is that after the race ecu is connected to the oem ecu, the system "relearns," but from what he's seen working with the IS300, it doesn't do that. Can anyone comment on this and confirm whether or not I should be worried?

I know a lot of guys are running the SRT intake on the 400/430 with no issues including myself, before I bought my intake I did a lot of reading on this forum to learn about them and I only found one case were the ecu fried.

I don't know why your concern about the IS 300 being that you have a GS 400. Plenty of guys are also running the intake on their GS300 with no issues.

Yeah I just wanted to make sure that no ones had this problem before on their 2GS before going ahead and having the guy install it. He was just really iffy about doing the install and even said that I can come back tomorrow and he'll show me how to solder the wires. Seems like he just didn't want to be held liable if anything were to mess up on my car. That was what scared me lol.

You'll be fine, hopefully that guy knows what he is doing
After the install disconnect the battery for a couple minutes to reset the memory of the ecu.
