is300 swap vvti or non vvti
 

On my quest to a GTE swap into my is300 I have done countless hours of research on going vvti or non vvti for the first few months I'm going to leave the motor as is then going to build for 800+ HP I have yet to find a Turner who can tune the vvti in my area I would like to do this the best way possible to get to my goal ive read some cons about that kind of power with the vvti and would like. some input will the vvti be useful at 800hp if I can get it tuned and if I can't how hard is it to do away with the vvti thanks for all info

^^ I second this guy. VVTI swap would be essentially plug and play where as the non-vvti would lose functionality. If you boost the ge motor it will be more cost effective and less headache.

Do whatever suits you man. I am personally going to swap a tt motor along with the v160 when its time. Go non VVT-I and let your local tuner work his magic man. Good luck with your build

Good to know you are doing homework for the swap! I would go the na-t route. it would make it easier to wire , purchase the parts you prefer for your build, and just run it on a TT ecu from aristo/supra and have a pretty much decently horsepower DD car with room to grow .... then when you are ready for the big digits, you go standalone, built bottom end, and a tranny to hold.

My is300 has a 1jzgte- vvti swap....so I would go for the vvti engine myself. Slightly more torque, later production engine, but both blocks are identical internally.

Coming from someone who has been in the 800hp realm before believe me when i tell you your not doing just a swap. To hit those numbers it takes way more then just taking a GTE motor and swapping it to a single turbo.
You need a new FFIM, A Built head, cams, etc.... If thats what your shooting for then just keep the motor you have now and build a new engine from ground up starting with a GTE shortblock straight from toyota.
Hitting 450-500hp in this car isnt a huge task. Going over that starts to take more and more work.
